Jurgen Ammerstorfer has been appointed as Hotel Manager at Shangri-La at the Shard

Former Trafalgar Hotel general manager Jurgen Ammerstorfer has been appointed hotel manager of Shangri-La at the Shard, the luxury hotel which is set to occupy the 34th to 52nd floors of Western Europe's tallest building The Shard. Working alongside executive vice president and general manager Darren Gearing, Ammerstorfer will be responsible for the day-to-day management and overseeing operations of the 202-bedroom hotel, which was originally setto open this summer, , before being pushed back to 'sometime in Q4' in May Before working at The Trafalgar, Ammerstorfer was general manager at Celebrity Cruises in Miami. The rest of his 13-year career has seen him work for Hilton in Egypt and Kuwait and for Preferred Hotels' Plaza on the River - Club and Residence, London and as banquet manager at The Leading Hotels of the World’s five-star Westgate Hotel in San Diego.

Paul Spencer has been appointed as General Manager at Holiday Inn Mayfair

Paul brings a wealth of knowledge with more than 13 years’ experience in the hospitality sector. He joins the team at the hotel in central London, following a successful career with QHotels where he oversaw three properties as Regional General Manager, and was also General Manager at the Forest Pines Resort. Paul began his career as Deputy General Manager for De Vere, before joining Macdonald Hotels as General Manager, working across several of their four star hotel and spa resorts across the UK.

Jennifer Fox has been appointed as president, International at FRHI

FRHI, the parent company of luxury and upper upscale hotel brands Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Raffles Hotels & Resorts and Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts, today announced several appointments to its senior leadership team. Jennifer Fox has been promoted to president, International, while also maintaining her position as president, Fairmont Brand. In this newly created role, Fox will relocate to Zurich and lead hotel operations for FRHI's International division, which includes the sub regions of Europe, Middle East, Africa & India and Asia Pacific. With the company projecting 50% growth over the next five years, much of it internationally, Fox will also oversee the company's Hotel Openings & Integration team.

Ian Dyson has been appointed as independent Non-Executive Director at InterContinental Hotels Group PLC

Ian is currently a Non-Executive Director of Punch Taverns plc, a Non Executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Betfair Group plc and, from 1 October 2013, he will be Senior Independent and Non-Executive Director of ASOS plc. Ian has held a number of senior executive and finance roles including Group Finance & Operations Director for Marks & Spencer Group plc for 5 years from 2005 to 2010, where he oversaw significant changes in the business. In addition, Ian was CEO of Punch Taverns plc, Finance Director for the Rank Group, and Group Financial Controller and Finance Director for the hotels division of the Hilton Group. Mr Dyson will serve as a member of the Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees.
