Mark Allvey has been appointed as VP Sales and Marketing, Europe, Middle East and Africa at The Oberoi Group

Effective 6th October 2009, Mr. Allvey is in charge of The Oberoi Group’s present and future portfolio of hotels, resorts and cruisers under the luxury ‘Oberoi’ and five star ‘Trident’ brands. Mr. Mark Allvey is responsible to Mr. Liam Lambert, President, Oberoi Hotels & Resorts. He is based at The Oberoi Group’s office in London. Mr. Allvey has more than twenty years experience in the hospitality industry. More recently, Mr. Allvey was the Global Director of Sales and Marketing for the Rocco Forte Collection. Previously, he was the Vice President, Sales for One&Only Resorts. Mr. Allvey has held the position of Director, Sales and Marketing for the Pan Pacific Hotel in Singapore and Vancouver. He was also the Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for the Morgans Hotel Group (formerly Ian Schrager Hotels), overseeing St Martin’s Lane Hotel and Sanderson Hotel, in central London. Mr. Allvey has also served as Chairman of the Pacific Asia Travel Association’s (PATA) Environmental Committee.

Justin Purves has been appointed as Director of Sales, Leisure for Europe at The Oberoi Group

Mr. Purves is in charge of The Oberoi Group’s present and future portfolio of leisure hotels, resorts and cruisers under the luxury ‘Oberoi’ and five star ‘Trident’ brands. Based at The Oberoi Group’s office in London, Mr. Purves is responsible to Mr. Mark Allvey, the incoming Vice President - Sales and Marketing, Europe, Middle East and Africa. Most recently, Mr. Justin Purves was the Founder and Managing Director of Saint Judes Boutique Hotel in Glasgow, Scotland. Prior to that, he spent five years with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group as the Regional Director of Sales for the emerging markets of Continental Europe and five years with Rocco Forte Hotels in Sales positions.

Stephan Boxall has been promoted to Managing Director at The Ritz

Boxall, who has 30 years experience in the hospitality industry, joined the Ritz in 1996 as restaurant manager, before being promoted to hotel manager in 2001. Two years later he took up the general manager (GM) position at the 137-room property. In his new capacity as a board member and company director, Boxall will be tasked with “structuring the hotel ready for future expansion”. He will retain GM responsibilities. “The past six years as general manager have been spent strengthening operations and building a strong foundation of key staff” Boxall said.

Greg Hegarty has been appointed as General Manager at Park Plaza Riverbank

Returning to Park Plaza Hotels, Greg Hegarty takes up the role of General Manager at the four-star deluxe Park Plaza Riverbank London and the five-star Plaza on the River Club and Residence. Previously General Manager at Park Plaza County Hall and Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes, Greg moved to BDL Hotels as Group Operations Manager in November 2007 and is excited to return to Park Plaza Hotels as the group expands globally. Awarded the Esprit General Manager of the Year at the 2006 Carlson Conference, and a winner of the Caterer and Hotelkeeper Acorn Award in 2004, Hegarty is currently studying a Masters in Business Administration at Kingston University.

Simon Mahon has been appointed as General Manager at Park Plaza County Hall

Park Plaza County Hall's new General Manager, Simon Mahon knows the area intimately, having spent two years as General Manager at London County Hall Premier Inn, before working as an Area Manager for Whitbread in London and the South East. He has over 15 years experience in the hospitality industry, including management roles in hotels in Edinburgh, Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool. "London's South Bank is one of the most vibrant areas in the country and the opportunity to join one of its most successful hotels tempted me back from area management," says Mahon.

Geoffrey Breeze has been appointed as VP strategic marketing and brand management at CHI Hotels & Resorts

Geoffrey will be based in London and will be working very closely with the CHI Hotels & Resorts sales and marketing team, led by senior vice president Glenn Carroll. In the early stages of his appointment, Geoffrey will be concentrating on further developing CHI’s strategies across the brands that it operates and will be particularly focused on the further progression of the Corinthia brand and the Wyndham Grand Collection. He will be working with the CHI team and the Wyndham team in order to bring about further penetration and development of the Corinthia brand worldwide and the Wyndham, Wyndham Grand Collection, and Ramada brands in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Geoffrey’s most recent senior marketing positions were at director level with Sabre Travel Networks and Neos Interactive. For fourteen years, Geoffrey was the worldwide vice president for the Hilton International Company based in London and responsible for many of Hilton International’s successful brand strategies. Throughout a long career in senior marketing positions, Geoffrey has held successful and senior positions with the Granada Group, Avis Rent-A-Car in New York, Gillette, and Procter & Gamble, amongst others. Geoffrey is a British citizen and a graduate of the University of Oxford in England.
