Denise Flanders has been appointed as General Manager at Hotel Bel-Air (Dorchester Collection)

Reporting to Ed Mady, west coast regional director USA, Denise brings to the company a wealth of experience, joining the team from her most recent position as general manager of The Four Seasons Chicago where she held the role since 2008. Spanning a long career with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Denise was previously general manager at The Four Seasons Atlanta from 2002 to 2008 and prior to this, held hotel manager roles at both The Four Seasons Olympic in Seattle, Washington and The Four Seasons Houston, Texas. Her experience also includes positions at The Pierre, New York and The Helmsley Palace, New York, where she was director of front office operations. Denise is a native of Pittsburgh and attended the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, majoring in social science and psychology. Denise comments: “I am delighted to be joining Hotel Bel-Air and taking this iconic address into a new era of glamour and excellence, following the exciting renovations. I am truly passionate about delivering the ultimate in guest relations and looking forward to immersing myself in the Dorchester Collection culture.”

Debra Rosenberg Matsumoto has been named General Manager at The Hotel Wilshire

Greystone Hotels has hired Debra Rosenberg Matsumoto as the general manager for The Hotel Wilshire. Greystone Hotels –which manages distinctive properties along the West Coast of the United States -in conjunction with OSM Investment Company launched The Hotel Wilshire, a 74-room boutique property in the heart of L.A.’s famed Mid Wilshire corridor, on September 1, 2011. The hotel is designed as a LEED property by the award-winning Killefer-Flammang Architects. The fresh and contemporary boutique hotel includes a rooftop pool and a bar and restaurant counterpart: The Roof on Wilshire. With more than two decades of luxury hospitality experience, at some of the finest establishments in Los Angeles and Europe, Debra Matsumoto will bring a combination of experience, management ability, people skills, energy and enthusiasm to The Hotel Wilshire. She is the inaugural General Manager of the property, and as such, will oversee daily hotel operational duties for the property. In her most recent role, Matsumoto was the Director of Sales and Marketing for JW Marriott Santa Monica Le Merigot. There, through her expertise, strategically sound, creative and resourceful plans and long-standing relationships with group, transient and catering guests, she grew occupancy, ADR and REV/PAR an average of 10 percent annually and assisted the GM with many operational responsibilities on a daily basis. Matsumoto joined Le Merigot in 1999 during the hotel’s opening year as Director of Catering and Special Events, where her background in the culinary arts benefitted clients on a daily basis. Prior to joining Le Merigot, Matsumoto was Assistant Director of Catering for Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel.

Jordan Kaye has been appointed as Marketing and Communications Manager at Andaz West Hollywood

With experience working on top-tier luxury and lifestyle accounts, Kaye joins the Andaz team from The Rose Group, a boutique PR and marketing firm. As an Account Supervisor he worked with account such as The SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills, Tyra Banks, SKYY Vodka and Showtime’s EliteXC. Prior to his role at The Rose Group, Kaye was a PR and marketing consultant where he launched The Rundown, a daily men’s e-newsletter and a local beer company, Fireman’s Brew. He also spent time at Fingerprint Communications where he led a team to launch the Polaroid Malibu Beach House, Bacardi’s 42 Below Vodka, and Maxim Magazine’s Super Bowl and Hot 100 parties. Kaye graduated with a BA in Public Relations and Advertising from Chapman University.

Alina Wade has been appointed as Director of Sales at Joie de Vivre's Custom Hotel

Alina Wade, newly appointed director of sales at Custom Hotel, started her professional career in advertising and public relations before moving into sales in the hospitality industry. In the last few years, Wade led the Sales Team at Sportsmen’s Lodge Hotel in Studio City. Since joining Joie de Vivre, Wade participated in the opening of Hotel Angeleno in Brentwood, the first Joie de Vivre property in Southern California. Prior to joining Joie de Vivre, Wade worked with the Hilton Corporation, which presented her with the Highest Sales Excellence Award in 2004 for outstanding results.

Chan Jin has been appointed as General Manager at Joie de Vivre's Custom Hotel

With over 20 years of experience in executive management, Custom Hotel General Manager Chan Jin is a seasoned veteran in the hospitality industry. He began his career serving Ian Schrager Hotels in New York, working with Brand Development & Performance at the pre-opening of five luxury lifestyle hotels. He then moved onto a successful career with Hilton Worldwide, working in executive leadership positions in Rooms and Food & Beverage divisions for key Southern California properties such as Fess Parker's Doubletree Resort in Santa Barbara, Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines in La Jolla, Hilton Los Angeles Airport and, most recently, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.

Dennis Hofilena has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at The Hotel Wilshire

A long-time resident of Los Angeles, newly appointed Director of Sales & Marketing Dennis Hofilena has spent his entire career in the luxury hospitality market. Hofilena began as a reservationist for the Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood before serving as the Sunset Marquis' Reservationist Manager. He worked briefly with the Peninsula Beverly Hills in its pre-opening stages, before returning to Sunset Marquis for a 15-year stint, eventually becoming the Director of Sales & Marketing. Hofilena took up a similar post at Petit Ermitage in 2010 prior to joining The Hotel Wilshire.

Greg Rizzi has been named General Manager at The Hotel Wilshire

With over 40 years of experience to his name, Gregory Rizzi is a seasoned veteran in the hospitality industry and the new General Manager of Hotel Wilshire. A native to New York City, Rizzi joined the Loews Hotel Corporation fresh from college, working as an Operations Manager at several of their properties before being promoted to Director of Reservations. After working with Americana Hotels, a division of American Airlines, and Realty Hotels, a subsidiary of Penn Central Railroad, Rizzi decided it was time to head West. He served as General Manager for several properties along the California coast, from The Sir Francis Drake Hotel in San Francisco to La Jolla Shores Hotel near San Diego, before moving to Los Angeles to assume his current post at The Hotel Wilshire.

Davide Barnes has been appointed as Hotel Manager at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills

Barnes has nearly 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, including four years with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. Most recently, he spent two years at Four Seasons Hotel Prague as General Manager, where he enjoyed becoming immersed in the area’s culture. Before that, he spent two years as Hotel Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia.

Nevertheless, Councilwoman Janice Hahn now wants the City Council to extend the worker-retention ordinance to cover all large hotels in Los Angeles. And local business leaders and hotel executives have few reservations about their anger.

Austin Watkins has been appointed as Director of Marketing at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills

Watkins has more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry including more than seven with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, spanning several major cities throughout North America and Hawaii. Most recently, he spent 3 ½ years at Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco, where he contributed to the sales and marketing team garnering several prestigious awards and accolades. Watkins also served as director of sales for Four Seasons Resort Whistler and joined Four Seasons at the former Newport Beach property in 2003.
