Kathy Faulk has been appointed as General Manager at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel

A skilled hospitality professional with 25 years of experience, Faulk began her career with The Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas before serving as Controller of the Biltmore under the Wrather Hotel Corporation. She has also held leadership positions with Sunburst Hospitality, Hilton Hotels and Destination Hotels and Resorts, overseeing historic and 4-diamond properties in Texas including The Richardson Hotel and The Driskill Hotel. Most recently Faulk served as General Manager of the boutique Hilton Checkers in downtown Los Angeles where she was awarded 2008 General Manager of the Year. Kathy Faulk holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Texas A&M, is a member of the Downtown Breakfast Club, an appointed member of the Business Tax Advisory Committee for the City of Los Angeles and serves on the Board of Directors for the Downtown Center Business Improvement District and LA Inc., The Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Pamela Hirneisen has been named President at HSMAI Los Angeles Chapter

A longtime HSMAI member, Hirneisen brings over ten years of hotel experience to her position. Hirneisen’s responsibilities for HSMAI’s LA Chapter include supporting the Association and its policies internally and externally as well as exercising the governing authority of the Board of Directors when advised to do so by the Board. Hirneisen is also responsible to act as the main liaison between the Board and the Managing Director and to enforce adherence to the Association's Constitution and By-laws and assure the integrity of the Board process. Bringing a background in hotel sales and revenue management, Hirneisen most recently administered the promotional and marketing efforts for the Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles Westside. As the Director of Sales and Marketing, Hirneisen was responsible for sales of $8 million annually. Among her accomplishments, the 260-guestroom hotel opened in April 2008 after a $36M top-to-bottom renovation. With more than 10,000 square feet of meeting space, and a full-service restaurant, the Courtyard is a far cry from typical Courtyard by Marriott hotels. In 2006, the Courtyard by Marriott Silver Spring Downtown was awarded Marriott’s Opening Hotel of the Year award under her leadership as Director of Sales & Marketing. Hirneisen will start in mid May as the Director of Sales & Marketing for the recently renovated 405-room Holiday Inn LAX. Prior to her position with Marriott, Hirneisen worked with some of the premier hotel groups across the country including Millennium Hotels & Resorts, Huntington Hotel Group, and Interstate Hotels & Resorts.

Stefan O. Huemer has been appointed as General Manager at InterContinental Los Angeles Century City

Mr. Huemer comes to Los Angeles directly from Kuredu and Komandoo Island Resort and Spa where he was Regional General Manager for five years. The Austrian born hotelier brings with him twenty years of International working experience that spans various positions in Austria, Germany, Philippines, Singapore, and France with luxury companies such as Mandarin Oriental and Kempinski. During his tenor he and his properties have been the recipients of many awards the most distinguished of which are: Kuredu Island Resort and Spa: Hotelier of the Year for Highest Occupancy, 2006-2007 presented by the President of the Maldives, Most Romantic Resort in Asia and number seven world wide from Expedia, Best All-Inclusive Resort Worldwide from Hayes & Jarvis, United Kingdom, Imperial Mark for excellent performance within the luxury resort industry, UK Imperial Mark Award for Most Outstanding Hotel Operations; and Golden Fan Award for Outstanding F&B Operation in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. Mr. Huemer is an alumnus of Cornell University, New York, USA; F&B, Marketing Management College, WIFI-University of Vienna, Linz, Austria and Hotel School (Hotelfachschule) Salzburg, Salzburg, Austria. He is fluent in English, German and French and looks forward to welcoming you to LA in any language.

Rajesh Khubchandani has been appointed as Hotel Manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles

Rajesh Khubchandani has been appointed hotel manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles at L.A. Live, which will be opening on February 15, 2010 as the first luxury hotel in Downtown L.A., adjacent to the Staples Center, Nokia Theatre and the Grammy Museum. Khubchandani has 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry working in several countries, including Thailand, the Maldives Islands, India, Sri Lanka, Canada and the United States. He was most recently the director of operations for The Ritz-Carlton, Boston Common. Prior to that, he was the director of operations for the Toronto Airport Marriott, where he aided in the renovation and re-positioning of that hotel. While as the Toronto Airport Marriott, he was awarded the North American Lodging Director of Event Management award in 2004. In 2000, Khubchandani worked at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto as the director of food and beverage outlets. Prior to working in Toronto, Khubchandani served as the resort manager of the Taj Coral Reef resort in the Maldives. During his time abroad, he also helped to open an Oberoi and a Taj Hotel in Asia.

Bob Bennett has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer at Luxury Link

Bob joined Luxury Link in 2008 as Chief Product Officer overseeing product management and development, technology, marketing and customer support. He has been instrumental in making numerous site upgrades over the past year, including streamlining the purchase process, perfecting merchandising practices and enhancing Luxury Link’s already outstanding customer service. These changes and Bob’s leadership over improvements in the Company’s marketing efforts have led to a record number of buyers and room nights booked for hotel clients this year, with two months left to go. In his expanded leadership role, Bob will be focusing on increasing consumer awareness of Luxury Link among online travel buyers while continuing to enhance the site to better serve Luxury Link customers and add even more marketing value for luxury hoteliers and advertisers.

Ana Diaz-Coreas has been appointed as Director of Sales - West Coast at Barceló Hotels & Resorts

In her new Los Angeles-based position, Diaz-Coreas will be responsible for the sales and promotion of Barceló resorts located on the West Coast of Mexico, with particular emphasis on driving sales to the all-new Barceló Los Cabos Palace Deluxe, debuting later this year. With more than two decades of sales experience in the tourism and hospitality industry, Diaz-Coreas previously served as director of sales for North America at both Barceló Karmina Palace Deluxe in Manzanillo, Mexico, and Barceló La Jolla de Mismaloya in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. She also brings with her prior sales experience with Mayan Group Resorts and Blue Bay Resorts, among other hotel and travel-related companies. In her new role, Diaz-Coreas will assist with the December 2009 grand opening of the newest Barceló property, Barceló Los Cabos Palace Deluxe, a 626-all-suite, all-inclusive resort offering 34 unique swim-up suites, the first and only swim-up suites in the destination. She will also work to increase awareness of the hotelier’s "B Partner" program.
