Hilton Memphis Completes an $11 Million Hotel-Wide Transformation

Hilton Memphis finalized the final touches on an $11 million hotel transformation project, which includes the creation of a "Lobby Hub" with expanded food and beverage services and social zones; upgrades to the conference center to include new Axminster carpet, wall vinyl and chairs; a new, elegant "grand staircase;" and modern, tech-driven meeting rooms. The guest room updates will include the installation of sleek glass showers in all of the king rooms, new carpet and stylish furniture, including the addition of refrigerators in each room.

Central Station Hotel Opens in Memphis’ South Main District

Kemmons Wilson Companies along with Henry Turley Company and Valor Hospitality Partners announced today the opening of The Central Station Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton, a 123-room boutique hotel in Memphis' South Main District. The Central Station is Memphis' newest boutique hotel, transformed from the city's 105-year-old historic transportation hub. The property features mid-century architectural design, Memphis-influenced music programming, expansive meeting spaces and will also offer regionally inspired French brasserie cuisine at onsite restaurant Bishop, slated to open in November 2019.

Helen Nelson has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Central Station, a Curio by Hilton

The Central Station, a Curio Collection by Hilton™ hotel, announced today the appointment of Helen Nelson as Director of Sales and Marketing. The 123-room boutique hotel is set to open in Memphis' iconic South Main district in Fall 2019, transforming the 105-year-old renowned transportation hub into a luxury eight-story, music and design-driven hotel. As opening Director of Sales and Marketing, Helen Nelson will focus on driving sales and business growth strategies for the boutique hotel. A seasoned professional in the hospitality industry, Nelson brings more than a decade of progressive hotel sales experience to the property, with expertise in client relations, pricing strategies and management. Prior to joining The Central Station, Nelson served as director of sales and marketing at Hu. Hotel Memphis, where she successfully led and executed sales strategies for business growth of the property. Nelson has held additional sales and marketing management roles at notable IHG properties in Memphis, including Crowne Plaza Memphis East, Crowne Plaza Memphis Downtown, Holiday Inn Memphis Downtown and Whispering Woods Hotel Conference Center. She earned her bachelor's degree in tourism and leisure management from University of Gloucestershire in Cheltenham, England.

The Central Station, a Curio Collection by Hilton™ hotel, announced today the appointment of Jeremy Sadler as General Manager. The 123-room boutique hotel is set to open in Memphis' iconic South Main district in Fall 2019, transforming the 105-year-old renowned transportation hub into a luxury eight-story, music and design-driven hotel. As General Manager, Sadler will lead day-to-day hotel operations, guest relations and team development for The Central Station. A tenured hospitality leader, Sadler brings more than two decades of experience to the property. Prior to joining The Central Station, Sadler served as opening general manager for Tulsa Club, a Curio Collection by Hilton™ property, where he spearheaded the transformation of the historic location into a premier hotel destination. Sadler previously held other leadership roles with top hospitality brands, including IHG, Marriott, Starwood and Hilton, across the states of Texas, Alabama and Indiana. He earned his bachelor's degree in hotel, motel, and restaurant management from Northwood University.

Hyatt Announces Hyatt Centric Brand Growth in the U.S. with New Hotel Planned for Memphis

The 227-room Hyatt Centric Beale Street will be developed through a joint venture between affiliates of Hyatt and Carlisle Hotels, Inc. The hotel will be developed within Carlisle's One Beale Street mixed-use project, to be located at the intersection of Beale Street and Front Street, just one block east of the Mississippi River and Riverside Drive. In addition to 227 guestrooms, Hyatt Centric Beale Street Memphis will feature a rooftop lounge, offering breathtaking views of the city's skyline and Mississippi River, as well as a ground floor lobby containing the hotel restaurant, bar and fitness center. Just off the lobby, guests will also enjoy an open-air courtyard with an outdoor swimming pool and fire pit, plus more than 14,000 square feet of meeting and event space located on the other side of the courtyard within the historic Wm. C. Ellis & Sons Ironworks and Machine Shop. Hotel construction is slated to begin in the second quarter of 2019, with an anticipated opening date by the end of 2020. Local Memphis design house, HBG Design, has been engaged for the hotel project.

Moxy Memphis Downtown Opens Spring 2019

Moxy Memphis Downtown is located at Court Square and on the trolley line, blocks away from the Beale Street Entertainment District, the South Main Arts District and the Mississippi Riverfront. The property is scheduled to be unveiled in Spring 2019. Designed by Manuel Zeitlin Architects and Bounds and Gillespie Architects, the hotel includes 118 guest rooms. The hotel's exterior will feature a modern front porch theme, fitting nicely with the lively park atmosphere adjacent to Court Square.

Holly Lawson has been appointed as Corporate Director of People and Cculture at Pivot Hotels & Resorts

Bill Duncan has been appointed as Global Head, Brand Management at All Suites Brands and Embassy Suites by Hilton

Bill Duncan will oversee the newly created All Suites division encompassing Embassy Suites by Hilton, Homewood Suites by Hilton and Home2 Suites by Hilton; Bill will also serve as brand manager for Embassy Suites. Duncan has more than 25 years of experience with Hilton, most recently serving as Global Head of Homewood Suites by Hilton and Home2 Suites by Hilton. In this role, Duncan established Homewood Suites as a leader in the upscale extended-stay segment by growing market share, expanding the brand's footprint to over 375 hotels and upholding the brand's award-winning customer satisfaction culture – including six consecutive "Top Extended Stay Hotel" honors from J.D. Power & Associates. He also led the launch of Home2 Suites, which has been one of the fastest growing brands in Hilton’s history. Prior to his tenure with Hilton’s extended stay brands, Duncan worked nearly a decade on the Embassy Suites brand team serving in various management, hotel performance support and sales roles.
