Bernard de Villele has been appointed as General Manager at St. Regis Mexico City

De Villèle is widely recognized as a successful hotelier and entrepreneur within the luxury hospitality industry. Prior to joining The St. Regis Mexico City, de Villèle served as general manager of The St. Regis Mauritius Resort, where he oversaw the hotel's opening in 2011. Under his leadership, the hotel was awarded Hideaways Hotel of the Year in 2012 and Condé Nast Traveler's Hot List in 2013, among others. Beginning with a degree in Hotel Management from the world-renowned École Hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland, de Villèle's celebrated career crosses multiple continents with tenures in award-winning properties and senior management and executive roles for St. Regis, Four Seasons, Hilton, InterContinental, Orient Express Hotels, Rosewood Hotels, Savoy Group and TAJ Hotels, where he served as vice president of operations for Europe and the Americas. His vast experience also includes serving as Lebanon area general manager for Habtoor Hotels, leading the opening of The Lanesborough Hotel, major renovations of the legendary Resort La Samanna with Orient Express Hotels and the establishment of 51 Buckingham Gate, TAJ Suites & Residences. He has also been awarded numerous accolades for his accomplishments, including being named one of the finest hoteliers worldwide by the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences in 2003. De Villèle is the son a French diplomat and spent his childhood in Mexico. He speaks French, English Spanish and has a good notion of Italian and German.

Gilles Gonzalez has been appointed as Managing Director at NH Hoteles Latin American Business Unit

From his new position, Mr. Gonzalez will coordinate the Group’s current Business Units in the region - Mercosur & Mexico and Central & Caribbean – with a view to promote the brand’s development in Latin America, hand-in-hand with local partners, and positioning NH as a benchmark in this market’s hotel sector. Boasting an extensive record in the hotel sector, Gilles Gonzalez has spent most of his career at Accor, a global hotel group with a leading presence in Europe. In his more than 20 years working for the French group, he has held several positions, most notably Senior Vice President of Franchising, as well as other strategic posts within the general management, business development and operations departments. Gonzalez knows the South American market extremely well, having lived between Colombia, Peru, Argentina and Brazil for 12 years, as well as other European markets such as France, where he has also lived for long periods of time.

Guy Santoro has been appointed as Executive Chef at St. Regis Mexico

Santoro’s impressive international culinary background as a chef and owner of several renowned restaurants in Mexico City gives him the skills necessary to lead the distinguished culinary team at Diana restaurant. Santoro is the proprietor of three prominent restaurants in Mexico City: Piazza Navona, Meats Au Charcutier, and Rustic Bread Bakery. Previously, Santoro served as the executive chef at the Presidente Intercontinental Hotel in Mexico City. Santoro is also the recipient of several prestigious culinary awards, including Chef of the Year by Intercontinental Hotels of Americas and The Key of Progress Amait for Executive Restaurant Leader. Additionally, Santoro serves as the president of Vatel Club in Mexico and is a member of the Chaine des Rotisseurs.

Gerardo Murray has been appointed as Regional Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Mexico at InterContinental InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG)

Based in Mexico City, Murray will report to Eric Pearson, Chief Marketing Officer, the Americas. In his new role, Murray will develop and oversee the execution of the sales plan and marketing programs across the IHG portfolio of hotels in Mexico. With more than 23 years in the hospitality industry, Gerardo comes to IHG from Casa Grande Hotels Group, where he served most recently as CEO and General Director. In this role, he was directly responsible for the overall performance, operations, marketing, finance and development for eight hotels. He also managed Board relations, as well as the marketing fund for the group, which included the creation of multi-brand promotions. Prior to that, Gerardo served as VP of Sales & Marketing for Milenium Hotels Group of Mexico, where he worked with 13 hotels - including Crowne Plaza Monterrey, InterContinental Monterrey, Holiday Inn Monterrey Fundidora and Holiday Inn Express Juarez - to establish DOS and GM strategies to gain market share through local markets and various channels. In this role, Gerardo established strong relationships with key account managers throughout IHG and served as member of the Priority Club® Rewards advisory committee, as well as a member of the IAHI sales and marketing committee in Mexico.
