Lynval Miller has been appointed as Director of Human Resources at The Heldrich

Lynval Miller brings 22 years of professional experience to his new position at The Heldrich. He was previously director of human resources for the Westminster Hotel of Livingston, New Jersey, while simultaneously serving as regional director of human resources for properties in New York City and Atlanta.During Super Storm Sandy, one of the worst natural disasters in New Jersey's history, Mr. Miller held the position of disaster case management coordinator for the State. In this role he was responsible as a contractor with FEMA to make sure the State's Disaster Relief Centers were adequately staffed with disaster case managers. He has also served as director of human resources for the Grand Summit Hotel located in Summit, New Jersey.Mr. Miller is a graduate of Seton Hall University where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Management. He has previously served as a New Jersey State Certified Firefighter. Lynval Miller resides in Mount Olive with his family.

Colin Ankersen has been appointed as General Manager at The Heldrich Hotel & Conference Center

BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, has named Colin Ankersen general manager for The Heldrich, a Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property located in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Greg Champion, Benchmark’s president & COO, made the announcement. Prior to joining Benchmark, Colin Ankersen was vice president of Boast Management and general manager at the Westminster Hotel, located in Livingston, New Jersey. He previously served as general manager for the landmark Westin Governor Morris in Morristown, New Jersey. Earlier Mr. Ankersen was a managing director for Restaurant Associates, overseeing all combined hospitality services supporting the Royal Bank of Scotland Headquarters, Stamford, Connecticut. Colin Ankersen is a native of Denmark. He graduated from Oklahoma State University Hospitality Program. Mr. Ankersen resides in Stockholm, New Jersey.

Bryan Lowe has been appointed as Area Director of Finance. at Benchmark

Kirk Jones, Chief Financial Officer, made the announcement. Mr Lowe will be based in Benchmark’s regional office in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Mr Lowe was most recently controller for The Heldrich, a Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property located in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He previously held the same position for the Ocean Place Resort & Spa of Long Branch, New Jersey, and for the Carefree Resort & Villas of Carefree, Arizona.

Juan R. Vicioso, Jr. has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at The Heldrich

BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, has named Juan R. Vicioso, Jr., director of sales & marketing for The Heldrich, a Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property located in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Stacy Thaler Martin, general manager, made the announcement. Juan Vicioso brings to The Heldrich 20 years of hospitality experience with a focus on sales and marketing. For the past 12 years he has been a sales leader with Starwood Hotels and Resorts, concentrating on the New York City market, including serving as director of catering and convention services for the W New York and associate director of catering for the Westin Times Square. While with Starwood, Mr. Vicioso received five Top Sales Incentive Awards and with his team won the Starwood Sales Team of the Year for both 2006 and 2014. Earlier in his hospitality career, Vicioso worked in sales leadership positions for properties in Washington, DC. He launched his career at New York’s Waldorf Astoria. Mr. Vicioso is a second generation hotelier, as his father worked with such legendary properties as New York’s Essex House and the Plaza Hotel, as well as the Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic. Juan Vicioso is a graduate of the University of Southern New Hampshire where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. He resides in Bloomfield, New Jersey.

Julie Walsh has been named Area Director of Revenue Management at Benchmark Hospitality International®

BENCHMARK, a global hospitality company, has named Julie Walsh area director of revenue management. Kim Nugent, vice president revenue management, made the announcement. Ms. Walsh will be based in Benchmark’s New Brunswick, New Jersey, offices. Julie Walsh’s area revenue management responsibilities will span Benchmark properties coast to coast, including select hotels and resorts located in California, Wyoming, and Massachusetts. This is a return to Benchmark for Ms. Walsh, as earlier in her career she served as front office manager for the company’s Heldrich Hotel in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She was most recently revenue manager for the Wyndham Hotel Group.

Edan Ballantine has been appointed as General Manager at Hyatt Regency New Brunswick

Most recently, Ballantine was Director of Rooms at Grand Hyatt New York, the company’s largest guestroom property in Manhattan. Prior to this position, Ballantine was Director of Food and Beverage at Grand Hyatt New York for 3 years. Ballantine began his hospitality career in the food and beverage division at Hyatt Regency Hilton Head Resort and Spa. From there, Ballantine was promoted throughout the country, quickly climbing the food and beverage ladder, before holding his first Director of Food and Beverage position at Hyatt Regency Milwaukee. Ballantine held the post of Director of Food and Beverage at four hotels before moving to Grand Hyatt New York.

Nathaniel (Nate) Waldron has been promoted to Director of Operations at The Heldrich

Benchmark Hospitality International, a leading U.S.-based hospitality management company, has appointed Nathaniel (Nate) Waldron director of operations for The Heldrich, a Benchmark Hotel® located in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Stacy Martin, Benchmark's general manager for The Heldrich, made the announcement. Previously Nate Waldron was director of conference services for The Heldrich, a position to which he was appointed in 2008 upon rejoining Benchmark Hospitality International. He also served as director of conference services for Dolce Basking Ridge, New Jersey, which Benchmark Hospitality operated at that time as the North Maple Inn.

Pat Weldon has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at The Heldrich Hotel & Conference Center

Benchmark Hospitality International®, a leading U.S.-based hospitality management company, has appointed Pat Weldon director of sales and marketing for The Heldrich, a Benchmark Hotel located in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Stacy Martin, Benchmark's general manager for The Heldrich, made the announcement. Pat Weldon was previously director of sales and marketing for the DoubleTree by Hilton, located in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. She held the same position at the Dolce IBM Palisades and the IBM Learning Center in Palisades, New York. Earlier in her career, Ms. Weldon served in sales positions of increasing responsibility for hotels and conference center in locations from New York to Pennsylvania.

Tim Sofield has been appointed as Director of Group Sales at The Heldrich

Benchmark Hospitality International, a leading US-based hospitality management company, has appointed Tim Sofield director of group sales for The Heldrich Hotel and Conference Center, located in revitalized New Brunswick, New Jersey. Stacy Martin, Benchmark’s general manager at the hotel, made the announcement. Timothy Sofield was previously senior sales manager for The Heldrich. He has also served in the role of global sales manager for Dolce Basking Ridge, a hotel and conference center in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. Sofield is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickenson University with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. He resides in Bridgewater, New Jersey.

Stacy Martin has been named General Manager at The Heldrich

Benchmark Hospitality International, a leading US-based hospitality management company, has appointed Stacy Martin general manager for The Heldrich Hotel and Conference Center, located in heart of revitalized New Brunswick, New Jersey. Greg Champion, Benchmark’s chief operating officer, made the announcement. Stacy Martin was previously general manager of The Ellis Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia, a property that achieved a Top 10 rating during her tenure there. Prior to this, Ms. Martin served as general manager for a number of hotels in markets across the country, including Daytona Beach, Naples, Seattle, Dallas, and Boston.

Karl Chase has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Heldrich Hotel and Conference Center

Benchmark Hospitality International, a leading US-based hospitality management company, has named Karl Chase director of sales & marketing for The Heldrich Hotel and Conference Center, located in the heart of New Brunswick, New Jersey. Ted Davis, Benchmark’s senior vice president sales & marketing, made the announcement.

Maryann White has been named General Manager at The Heldrich Hotel and Conference Center

A 30-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Maryann White served for many years in positions of increasing responsibility for Starwood Hotels & Resorts in New Jersey and New York City, culminating in her appointment as general manager of the Westin Times Square. She has also held the position of general manager for other major brand hotels throughout New Jersey, as well as at locations in the Midwest and Western United States. Ms. White is the past vice president of the Atlantic City Hotel, Casino and Lodging Association. She is a graduate of Florida State University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree, and of Miami Dade Junior College. White is relocating to New Brunswick.

Susan C. Croggon has been appointed as National Accounts Sales Manager at Heldrich Hotel and Conference Center

A veteran of the meetings industry with more than 20 years of experience, Susan Croggon was previously national accounts manager for Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center, located in Peachtree, Georgia. In this role, Ms. Croggon specialized in developing new business within the northeast market, as well as pharmaceutical and medical industry segments. Prior to this she served as director of sales and marketing for The Palace at Somerset Park of Somerset, New Jersey. Ms. Croggon’s position with The Heldrich marks a return to Benchmark Hospitality International, having previously held the title of regional director of sales for the company’s Scottsdale Resort & Conference Center of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Cheyenne Mountain Resort, of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She also previously served Benchmark as director of sales for the former North Maple Inn in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. Additionally, Ms. Croggon has held the title of national sales manager and conference services manager for Hamilton Park Hotel and Conference Center of Florham Park, New Jersey. Earlier in her career, she was employed as conference services manager for The Scanticon Princeton Hotel & Conference Center, located in Princeton, New Jersey. Susan Croggon received her Master of Arts degree from Montclair State University, and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Rowan State University. Additionally, she has attended West Virginia Wesleyan College. Ms. Croggon has previously been recognized by Benchmark Hospitality International as Sales Executive of the Year and was presented with the company’s Award of Excellence. She resides in Mt. Olive, New Jersey, with her family.
