Denihan Hospitality Announces Formation of Workforce Development Program at The James Washington D.C.

Denihan Hospitality, ("Denihan" or the "Company") a full service hospitality company, is pleased to announce the formation of The James Connection, a workforce development program at the soon-to-be-constructed The James Washington D.C., the hotel component of Armature Works, a premier mixed-use development located in the vibrant NoMa neighborhood of Washington D.C. that is being developed by Trammell Crow Company, its residential subsidiary High Street Residential, and KochSmith Capital. The James Connection, which is intended to establish a mutually beneficial relationship between Denihan, its development partners and the local community, will offer 5-10 neighbors the opportunity to participate in a week-long hotel shadow program. It will also offer career training in hospitality twice a year to interested juniors and seniors at Eastern High School.

Petr Jurecka has been appointed as Hotel Manager at WestHouse Hotel

On August 8, 2018 Petr Jurecka officially took hold of his new position as Hotel Manager of WestHouse, a luxury boutique hotel in Midtown, New York, managed by HIGHGATE.With more than 17 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Jurecka has worked with some of the world's most reputable hotel corporations. Most recently he was resident manager at INNSIDE New York Nomad, a Meliã Hotels International property, where he oversaw and managed all aspects of the 313- room lifestyle hotel assuming the responsibilities of the general manager in his absence. Originally from Czech Republic he attended the College of Hotel Industry and Gastronomy as well as The Institute of Hospitality Management, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management. Petr arrived in NYC in the early 2000s to continue his promising career with the luxury boutique hotel company, HK Hotels (currently known as the Library Hotel Collection). Having started as a breakfast attendant Mr. Jurecka moved through the ranks, which has allowed him to have a deeper understanding of the industry and guests' needs in the pursuit of outstanding guest services. Assuming numerous management positions that included Front Office Manager, Housekeeping Manager, and Director of Operations, at the age of 26, Petr reached a personal milestone when he became General Manager of the Casablanca Hotel in New York City, which at the time had been chosen number one on T ripAdvisor. In 2010, after 11 years with HK Hotels, Jurecka transitioned to new challenges outside of the HK Hotels family as General Manager of Z NYC Hotel and the Sanctuary Hotel Times Square, where he oversaw a new hotel opening and a full renovation, respectively. After opening citizenM Hotel NY Times Square, in 2016 Petr joined the Denihan Hospitality Group and became Hotel Manager of the Benjamin hotel.

Marriott Signs Deal With Flag Luxury Group To Open A More Than $500 Million Ritz-Carlton Hotel And Residences Tower In New York City

Marriott International (NASDAQ: MAR) today announced that it has signed an agreement with luxury hospitality development firm Flag Luxury Group to bring The Ritz-Carlton brand to New York City's vibrant NoMad neighborhood, also known as North of Madison Square Park. Flag Luxury Group will develop the hotel and residences tower, which will represent a more than $500 million investment.

Jason Tresh has been appointed as Hotel Manager at New York Hilton Midtown

Most recently, Tresh served as the hotel manager at Hilton San Francisco where he elevated overall hotel performance including increasing guest satisfaction scores, repositioning food and beverage, increased overall profitability, and more. Prior to his time in San Francisco, he served as director of food and beverage at New York Hilton Midtown where Tresh helped to successfully reinvent the hotel's food and beverage program. He has also held positions as executive assistant manager and director of food and beverage at Millenium Hilton; assistant general manager and director of catering at Madison Towers; and corporate sales manager at Benchmark Hospitality, among others.

Scott Mason has been appointed as General Manager at Andaz 5th Avenue

Andaz 5th Avenue is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Mason as General Manager of the 184-room luxury boutique property in mid-town Manhattan. Mason, who has a distinguished 20 year career with Hyatt Hotels has been at the helm of numerous projects throughout the country. Most recently he served as the Miraval Group Director of Special Projects where he was instrumental during Hyatt's acquisition of this new wellness brand. Additionally, he was respon sible for onboarding General Managers for the Tucson and Austin properties while assisting the global team during the strategic planning phase. Prior to Miraval, he was with the Andazbrand where he served as the General Manager at Andaz Mayakoba and in 2015 opened the AndazScottsdale Resort & Spa. When Hyatt added The Driskill - one of Austin's most iconic hotels, to its Unbound Collection Mason was appointed General Manager and oversaw Hyatt's transition as owner and operator and directed an $8 million renovation project. While in Colorado, Mason served as General Manager of Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center during its $4 million renovation and General Manager for Park Hyatt Beaver Creek, where he directed a $28 million renovation. A few years prior, Mason's career led him to Chicago and New York, where he was hotel manager for Park Hyatt Chicago and the landmark Stanhope Park Hyatt in New York City. Mason's modus operandi is to be an involved community leader in the cities he calls home. While in Austin, he served on the Board of Directors for several organizations, including the Texas Hotel & Lodging Association, the Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau, Austin Hotel & Lodging Association, and the Board of Directors for Preservation Austin, formerly the Heritage Society. He also previously served as vice chair for the Board of Governors for the Vail Valley Partnership. Mason continues to be an active member of Hyatt's Diversity and Inclusion Council since 2009, serving as chairman from 2010-2012.Prior to joining Hyatt Hotels, Mason spent several years working in a variety of management positions for Disney's resort operations and theme park management. He is also a graduate of the Disney Management Development program.A Colorado native, Mason received his Bachelors of Science degree in Hospitality, Meeting and Travel Administration from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Sara Garibaldi has been promoted to Managing Director Travel & Economic Development industry sector at Ketchum PR

In her role as Travel & Economic Development sector leader, Sara brings 15 years of experience gathered at the top PR agencies leading integrated marketing communications campaigns across diverse industries including travel & hospitality (destinations, airlines & hotels), spirits & beverages, financial services, retail & apparel, consumer packaged goods and home & lifestyle clients. She's a brand marketer at heart with rich experience in travel & hospitality.
