Junya Ono has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Regent Phuket Cape Panwa

A veteran of the hospitality industry, Mr. Ono brings to his new role at the Regent Phuket Cape Panwa more than twenty eight years of luxury hotels sales and marketing experience. He will be responsible for all aspects of leisure sales and marketing, international and domestic group business as well as overseeing marketing, and generating revenue for the resort. Mr. Ono enjoys discovering new countries and cultures. He has developed his career through a series of appointments with upscale hotels in the region including The Ritz Carlton Osaka, The Strings by InterContinental Tokyo and The Mandarin Oriental Bangkok and most recently Hotel Okura Prestige Bangkok, where he was the Director of Sales & Marketing, oversaw the opening of the first Okura Hotel in Thailand, which proved to be one of the most successful, launches for the brand.

Stefan Zich has been appointed as Director of Food and Beverage at Regent Phuket Cape Panwa

The resort’s new Director of Food and Beverage is Stefan Zich who will be responsible for ensuring the excellent daily dining operations of the resort’s six bars and restaurants. Mr. Zich joins the Regent family in 2010 when he was appointed the Operations Manager Food & Beverage of the Regent Berlin –ranked the 3rd position in the best hotels in Northern Europe at the 2011 Conde’ Nast Readers Choice Awards. Mr. Zich’s resume also includes quality industry experience as Assistant Food & Beverage Manager of the Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains, Switzerland and Kempinski Pragelato Village Resort, Italy. He most recently worked with Six Senses Can Dao, the 5-star resort in Con Son Island, Vietnam where he served as Director of Food & Beverage. His extensive knowledge of both the Regent brand and hotel food & beverage will ensure the highest services standards are maintained to the satisfactions of all our guests.

Peter Skinner has been appointed as Vice President, Design and Projects at Outrigger Enterprises Group

Outrigger Enterprises Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Skinner as Vice President, Design and Projects. Skinner joined the company on 8 August, 2014, and is based in the Outrigger Asia-Pacific corporate office in Phuket, Thailand and reports to Darren Edmonstone, Outrigger Managing Director, Asia-Pacific. Skinner's job responsibilities include leading the design direction for projects Outrigger has planned across the Pacific, Asia and the Indian Ocean. From the planning and design direction of new 'greenfield' hotel projects down to redesigns of restaurants and other internal facilities, Skinner will drive brand consistency and help Outrigger create new, innovative and exciting resort products. With 25 years experience in the design industry, Skinner has been responsible for a large number of international design projects. Core areas of expertise include feasibility, concept planning, architectural and interior design. Most recently, Skinner was design director at The Beaumont Partnership, an interior design consultancy with its head office in Bangkok, Thailand. While there, he was responsible for numerous architectural and interior designs including the concept planning and interior design of Outrigger Mauritius Resort and Spa and concept work for Outrigger Surfers Paradise. Before that Skinner was equity principal and creative director for Hassell, Bangkok, principal for Hassell in Perth, Western Australia, and hospitality interior and senior designer for GA Design International in London.

Sanjeev Tandon has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket

Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket has announced the appointment of Sanjeev Tandon as Director of Sales & Marketing, effective from 23 July 2014. An Indian national, Tandon holds a master’s degree in management studies with specialization in marketing from S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai University, India plus extensive key account management, revenue management, marketing communications and operations experience.

Itthipon Meesawat has been appointed as General Manager at Eastin Hotel Yama Phuket

Mr. Itthipon, a Master of Arts in International Tourism and Hotel Management from Southern Cross University, Australia and Naresuan University, Thailand, began his career as Guest Service Manager at Krabi’s Nakamanda Resort and Spa in 2002. After that he joined Centara Hotels & Resorts as Assistant Front Office Manager at Sofitel Central Plaza Bangkok before moving on to Sofitel Centara Grand Resort and Villas Hua Hin in the same position. In 2009 he was promoted to Front Office Manager at Centara Villas Samui before achieving the position of Rooms Division Manager in 2010. In 2011, Mr. Itthipon decided to expand his knowledge and practice his language skills at the Faculty of Chinese Language, Beijing Jiaotong University, China for a year before returning to Thailand. In 2012 he became Executive Assistant Manager at Melati Beach Resort Samui before being recruited by Absolute Hotel Services as General Manager of the group’s boutique property U Chiang Mai in November 2012.

Michael Mangan has been appointed as Director of Planning and Support, Asia-Pacific at Outrigger Hotels and Resorts

Mr Mangan assumed the role earlier this month and is based in Outrigger Asia-Pacific regional headquarters in Phuket, Thailand. He reports to William Visser, Vice President Operations, Asia-Pacific. Mr Mangan is an Australian national with 34 years experience in hospitality sector. Before joining Outrigger, Mr Mangan held executive chef positions with Park Royal Hotel and Marriott Hotels in Kuala Lumpur. He has been Director of Food & Beverage at Sanya Marriott Resort and Spa in China, and IHILANI Hotel and Resort, Oahu, Hawaii. He worked in Beijing as Executive Assistant Manager of the Regent Hotel and was most recently the General Manager of The Shanxxi Capital Club in Changsheung, China.
