He most recently served as General Manager of McKibbon's Homewood Suites by Hilton Raleigh-Durham Airport/Research Triangle Park, where his impressive results and inspiring leadership were recognized with a 2023 McKibbon Circle of Excellence Award. This role was preceded by his time as General Manager of Homewood Suites by Hilton Raleigh-Crabtree Valley, which was previously managed by McKibbon, during which time he earned his Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) Certificate from the American Hotel and Lodging Association.

The Raleigh City Council voted today to direct the City of Raleigh staff to enter into negotiations with Omni Hotels & Resorts, in partnership with Preston Hollow Community Capital and Provident Resources Group, to develop the highly anticipated convention hotel in the core of downtown Raleigh. Dedicated and award winning general manager, Hunter is familiar with North Carolina having attended North Carolina Central University and chairing the Durham Convention & Visitors Bureau for three terms during service from 1996 to 2014. He joins the Embassy Suites team after recently consulting at Research Triangle Park (RTP) Foundation in Durham and directing all aspects of operation of a full service hotel with just under 200 guestrooms. From 1972 to 2013, he held several positions at Governors Inn, Radisson Hotel RTP including hotel manager and general manager a position he held for 18 years.
