Hyatt Centric Hotel Breaks Ground in Downtown Sacramento City

Presidio Companies and Hyatt announce the groundbreaking of the highly anticipated Hyatt Centric hotel in downtown Sacramento's City Center, slated for opening in Summer 2020. Perfectly located in the heart of the vibrant redevelopment currently underway downtown, the Hyatt Centric hotel will be located at 1122 7th Street, directly adjacent to the new world-class sports and entertainment venue Golden 1 Arena.

Four Points By Sheraton Sacramento International Airport Under New Ownership, $2 Million Full-scale Property Renovation Underway

The Four Points by Sheraton Sacramento International Airport, located just three miles south of the airport, has been acquired by Santa Clara-based real estate company JMK Hotels, LLC and the Kehriotis family. Scott Griemsmann and Subu Thiagarajan of Paramount Lodging Advisors represented both Buyer and Seller in this transaction. Under its new ownership, the property will undergo a $2 million full-scale reno vation to include an exterior refresh, plus all 100 guestrooms, common areas, 14,000 square-feet of meetings space, and The Gateway restaurant. The renovation commenced in July 2018 and is expected to be completed in early 2019, remaining open over the duration.

Terri A. Haack has been named Chair at California Hotel & Lodging Association (CH&LA)

Terranea Resort, A Destination Hotel, is pleased to announce President Terri A. Haack’s election as 2015 Chair of the California Hotel & Lodging Association (CH&LA) Board of Directors. Haack was elected to the position at the Board’s annual meeting in San Francisco in November and assumed her position this January. She will head the volunteer leadership team, guiding the association’s mission of benefitting both the members and the entire industry. “I am honored to be elected Chair of such a dedicated organization and group of lodging industry professionals,” said Haack. “I look forward to working closely with CH&LA throughout 2015 to continue to grow and develop the association’s efforts for the state’s lodging and hotels.”

Kevin Thorstenson has been named VP of Hotel Operations at Thunder Valley Casino

Thorstenson's 22 years of experience in the hospitality industry and hotel management includes time at resorts in Las Vegas and San Diego. Thorstenson was executive vice president and general manager of Hotel Park City Golf Resort and Spa from 2002 to 2008, which Conde Nast Traveler rated the 11th Best Place to Stay and Ski in North America in 2007 and is a member of Leading Hotels of the World, which identifies hotels where exceptional services is the norm rather than the exception. Thorstenson was responsible for the resort's opening and created its AAA Five Diamond Standard training program. He also convinced Ruth's Chris Steakhouse to call Hotel Park City home and oversaw the design and construction of the Spa at Hotel Park City. Thorstenson has also held executive positions at the Handlery Hotel and Resort in San Diego, the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach, Calif. and Key Largo Casino in Las Vegas. He is also fluent in Japanese and spent two years living abroad in Japan. The 400-room Thunder Valley Casino Hotel id Scheduled to Open Summer of 2010.
