Grand Hyatt San Francisco announces the appointment of Anita Rahman as the hotel’s new Director of Sales and Marketing. Rahman was most recently Director of Sales and Marketing at Andaz Maui at Wailea, where she led the efforts in opening the brand’s first resort destination. Having previously held roles at Hyatts in San Francisco, Seattle, and San Diego, Rahman brings with her 16 years of experience with Hyatt, a keen understanding of marketing and sales goals, and a strong familiarity with the city’s hospitality industry.Rahman began her Hyatt career as Catering and Conference Services Manager at the Park Hyatt San Francisco, and was eventually promoted to Sales Manager at the hotel. After serving in a variety of sales roles at Grand Hyatt Seattle, Hyatt at Olive 8, and Andaz San Diego, Rahman joined the opening team at Andaz Maui at Wailea in 2012 as Director of Sales and Marketing. In this role, Rahman provided leadership and strategy during the launch of the Andaz brand’s first-ever resort destination.

Prior to joining Hotel Zephyr, Williams acted as interim general manager for Sheraton Iowa City Hotel, hotelVetro and Valley River Inn.
The total supply of hotel rooms in the San Francisco and San Jose MSA regions is expected to increase from 90,000 to nearly 93,000 by March of 2017, as 19 hotels are projected to open over the next 12 months. The San Jose MSA region is expected to see a 6.07% increase in room supply, while the San Francisco MSA region is projected to see a 1.75% increase.

Located on the airport grounds, Grand Hyatt San Francisco International Airport is anticipated to open in mid- 2019. Hyatt Hotels Corporation CEO and President Mark Hoplamazian and SFO Airport Director John L. Martin participated in a signing ceremony on January 21 at the SFO Aviation Museum in International Terminal A.

The companies that own world renowned Fairmont San Francisco Hotel atop Nob Hill were sold today for $450 million by a partnership between funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. ("Oaktree") and real estate investor Michael Rosenfeld's Woodridge Capital Partners LLC. Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) was also part of the selling group. The buyer is comprised of affiliated companies of Mirae Asset Global Investments, a large financial services company based in Seoul, Korea. Mirae is a pioneering financial services company that introduced the first mutual funds to Korea in 1998.
