George Wee has been promoted to General Manager, Regional Vice President, China at Fairmont Peace Hotel

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has promoted George Wee to regional vice president and general manager, Fairmont Peace Hotel. With this expanded role, Wee will continue to be responsible for the overall operations, performance and strategic directions for the Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai, but will now also have oversight of Fairmont hotels in China. Wee has over 30 years of experience and joined the company in 2013.

Nicholas Blair has been appointed as Executive Chef at Shangri-la Pudong

Originally from Australia, Chef Nicholas has lived and worked in Asia for 10 years in total. No stranger to Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, he was an executive chef at Shangri-La Hotel Dalian. He was part of the opening team as executive chef of the Shangri-la property in Tainan, Taiwan and an executive sous chef at China World Hotel, Beijing. He also worked as chef de cuisine at several high-profile hotels, such as Intercontinental Hotel Hong Kong.

James Kim has been appointed as Vice President Asia Pacific at Meliá Hotels International

Meliá Hotels International (MHI) has announced James Kim as its new Vice President in Asia Pacific, responsible for all operations in the region, reporting directly to the Regional Vice President APAC, Bernardo Cabot. Kim was previously Vice President of Operations for Howard Johnson International China within Wyndham Hotel group USA and Jin Jiang International Hotel Management Company in Shanghai. He has also held several management positions in many other international hotel brands across Asia and all over the world.

An Austrian national with over 30 years in the hospitality industry, Maximilian has vast experience in Food and Beverage and hotel operations. After graduating with an Executive MBA from Reims Management School, Reims, France, Maximilian worked with several international hotel brands including Kempinski, Hilton, Westin, Mandarin Oriental and Conrad.
