Scandic has signed a long-term, revenue-based lease agreement with property owner AXA Investment Managers to take over a 174-room hotel in central Stuttgart. The hotel will be renovated and adapted to Scandic's brand and operational standards before the planned opening in the fourth quarter 2025.

Building on the success of the Mövenpick Hotel Stuttgart Airport & Messe, Swiss company Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has signed a contract for another hotel located just 150 metres from the existing building. The new hotel will be situated right by the S-Bahn and the planned ICE airport station and tram terminal stop.
Swiss-born Stefan Schär (44) will take on the position of General Manager of the Jaz Hotel in Stuttgart with effect from 1 September. The hotel is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2017.
Stuttgart is getting a designer business hotel: A NOVUM Style Hotel with more than 200 rooms is being created at the Pragsattel. Construction will commence in mid-2017, and the hotel is scheduled to open in 2019. The hotel will be part of a high-rise with twelve floors. The project development is done by a joint venture between AVONIA Real Estate GmbH (Leinfelden-Echterdingen), Merkur Development Holding GmbH (Rüsselsheim) and OSWA Planen und Bauen GmbH (Ingersheim).

Investor Tobias Fischer, CEO of Schwäbische Wohnungs AG and Managing Director of Cloud No. 7 Projektgesellschaft GmbH, stated: "37 high-quality business apartments and 20 luxury flats will be constructed above the Stuttgarter Jaz in the City Hotel. The architectural standards of this new build tower to house both residential units and hotel facilities will make it a beacon project within the Europa Quarter. Steigenberger is expanding in Stuttgart. The Frankfurt-based company will be represented in the exclusive hotel and residential project Cloud No. 7 (www.cloudno7.de) of the new Europaviertel district, with a design-driven first-class hotel. The Steigenberger Hotel will take up seven storeys of an 18-storey hotel and residential tower, providing some 175 guest rooms and suites. It will have five meeting rooms with about 550 square metres for meetings and conferences.
