Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced that it will manage a new luxury hotel in Suzhou, China, scheduled to open in 2026. This property will complement the Group's growing portfolio in the Yangtze River Delta. Suzhou is historically and culturally one of China's most important ancient cities and a leading centre of tourism, culture, science, and education.

Jiangsu Province To Welcome Second Cordis Hotel

Langham Hospitality Group (LHG) is set to double its Cordis Hotels & Resorts footprint in Jiangsu Province with the planned opening of a new hotel in the city of Kunshan. The Cordis, Kunshan, Xiajia River, which takes its name from the park- and lake-filled grounds of the nearby Xiajia River delta, will be situated in the Xiajia River Science and Technology Innovation Corridor. Hotel Okura Suzhou to Open in 2027

Hotel Okura Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement to operate and manage Hotel Okura Suzhou in Suzhou, China from 2027. The agreement with Suzhou Ronghe Real Estate Co., Ltd., which is owned by Suzhou Harmony Development Group Co., Ltd., Marimo Holdings, Inc. and Sumitomo Corporation, was signed on December 20.

Garden Hotel Suzhou Selects IDeaS to Maximise Revenue and Profit Potential

IDeaS, a SAS company, the world’s leading provider of hospitality revenue management software and services, has announced that Garden Hotel Suzhou has deployed IDeaS’ Revenue Management System (RMS) with significant success, increasing RevPAR over the period January to May 2023 by more than 30 percent of pre-COVID levels. As part of the initial phase of the project, IDeaS Consulting worked with relevant hotel staff to build a revenue culture within the hotel. The team also provided in-person guidance and training, including establishing a revenue management roadmap highlighting challenges and opportunities, developing internal processes and procedures, and creating monitoring tools to benchmark revenue performance.

Hotel Nikko Changshu to Open in 2023

Okura Nikko Hotel Management Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Hotel Okura Co., Ltd., announced today that it will open Hotel Nikko Changshu in 2023. The hotel will be located at Changshu National New & Hi-Tech Zone in Changshu city, one of the county-level cities in the Suzhou of southeastern Jiangsu Province. The company has contracted with Changshu Kuncheng Development Investment Co., Ltd. to manage the new property through its joint venture BTG Nikko International Hotel Management Co., Ltd.

Romain Chan has been appointed as Area General Manager, China at Pan Pacific Hotels Group

Pan Pacific Hotels Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Romain Chan as Area General Manager, China and General Manager, Pan Pacific Suzhou. romain chanRomain brings to our Group over 30 years of industry experience spanning China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Philippines and the United States. He started his career at the Front Office of Hilton Hong Kong and gained extensive operational experience at business and luxury hotels across Hong Kong, Macau and China prior to being appointed Assistant Director of Front Office Operations at the New York Hilton Midtown in New York City. In 1994, Romain assumed his first General Manager position at the Century Saigon Hotel in Vietnam. In no time, Romain was tasked to concurrently oversee three Century hotels in the Philippines. Since then, he has managed properties under the Shangri-La and Harbour Plaza brands in China. Romain is no stranger to Pan Pacific Hotels Group, having helmed Pan Pacific Ningbo from 2014 to 2016, where he delivered outstanding results in a challenging market and achieved record numbers in guest satisfaction and revenue growth. In his new role, Romain will be responsible for overseeing the performance of the brand’s properties in China, namely Pan Pacific Tianjin, Pan Pacific Xiamen, Pan Pacific Ningbo and Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Ningbo, as well as Pan Pacific Beijing when it opens early next year. This will be in addition to his role as General Manager of Pan Pacific Suzhou.

Anthony Ha has been appointed as Area VP & General Manager at Hyatt Regency Suzhou

Anthony Ha has been appointed general manager of Hyatt Regency Suzhou and area vice president, effective August 1, 2015. A graduate of Washington State University, Mr. Ha began his career with Hyatt in 1986 at Hyatt Regency San Francisco, followed by an assignment at Hyatt Regency Macau. After that, Mr. Ha worked with various hotels in mainland China, Hong Kong and Micronesia before rejoining the Hyatt family in February 2011. He became the opening general manager for Hyatt Regency Qingdao in August 2011 and subsequently assumed the position of area vice president in April 2015.

Vlad Reyes has been appointed as Area General Manager, China and General Manager at Pan Pacific Suzhou

As Area General Manager, Vlad will oversee the Group’s Chinese portfolio which now includes four “Pan Pacific” properties – Pan Pacific Suzhou, Pan Pacific Hotel and Serviced Suites Ningbo, Pan Pacific Xiamen and Pan Pacific Tianjin. Based at Pan Pacific Suzhou, he will also be in charge of the daily operations and overall performance of the 481-room hotel.
