Luke Scheer has been appointed as Senior Vice President at JLL Hotels and Hospitality Group

To tap into growing interest from investors within and outside of Canada eager to penetrate the country’s high barrier-to-entry hotel market, JLL today announced the firm is expanding its Hotels & Hospitality presence with the addition of Senior Vice Presidents Mark Sparrow and Luke Scheer. Sparrow and Scheer, who bring more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, will be based in the firm’s Toronto office.

Hyatt Hotels & Resorts today announced Scott Richer will serve as Hyatt’s regional vice president of development in Canada. In his new role, Richer will be responsible for the growth of Hyatt’s full service and select service brands in Canada. Richer will be based in Toronto, Ontario, and will report to Julienne Smith, Hyatt’s senior vice president of franchise and managed development for Hyatt Place and Hyatt House in North America, and David Tarr, Hyatt’s senior vice president of development for the Americas.

Michael Singer has been appointed as Area GM Toronto Hotels at Novotel North America

Novotel North America has announced the promotion of Michael Singer to Area General Manager of all Toronto Novotel hotels. Currently General Manager of Novotel North York and a 25-year veteran of Accor, the world's leading hotel operator, Singer will oversee all Novotel operations in the Toronto area. - In addition to his role as current General Manager of Novotel North York, Singer will be responsible for the operations of all Novotel Toronto hotels to maximize performance and quality. He will be tasked with creating a strategic plan for market growth in Toronto by implementing cohesive sales, PR, and marketing activities among all properties, while also overseeing F&B profitability and assisting in conceptual culinary developments. Singer will also be charged with monitoring growth of income and improving "flow" through the area hotels, while also assisting individual properties as needed in increasing market share and business stability.
