Mark Sergot has been appointed as Senior VP global sales organization at FRHI Hotels & Resorts (FRHI)

Taking on increased responsibility from his previous role as vice president, global sales for the company, Sergot will now focus on the management and administration of FRHI’s worldwide sales network, including both global and hotel sales teams. Specifically, he will concentrate on structure, strategy and standards to ensure all sales teams are fully aligned and integrated worldwide.

Kevin Frid has been promoted to president, Americas at FRHI

FRHI, the parent company of luxury and upper upscale hotel brands Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Raffles Hotels & Resorts and Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts announced several appointments to its senior leadership team. Kevin Frid has been promoted to president, Americas. In this newly created role, Frid will be based in Toronto and will oversee hotel operations for FRHI in the Americas, the company's single largest region with more than 45 hotels under management. Prior to his appointment, Frid served as the company's executive vice president, operations, Americas and Europe.

Michelle Crosby has been appointed as executive vice president and chief human resources officer at FRHI

Michelle Crosby joined the company earlier this year and has been named executive vice president and chief human resources officer. In this role, Crosby directs and has full responsibility for FRHI's human resources function globally. This includes corporate staffing, compensation, benefits, internal communications, talent management and learning. Based in Toronto, Crosby brings over 25 years of experience in human resources consulting and corporate HR leadership to the position.

Jeff Senior has been promoted to executive vice president and chief marketing officer at FRHI

FRHI, the parent company of luxury and upper upscale hotel brands Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Raffles Hotels & Resorts and Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts, today announced several appointments to its senior leadership team. HSMAI Global Chair and Americas Executive Committee Member, Jeff Senior has been promoted to executive vice president and chief marketing officer. In this newly created role, Senior will be responsible for all FRHI sales and marketing activity including global sales, corporate branding, digital marketing, public relations, marketing partnerships, loyalty marketing, revenue management and analytics. Senior, along with his sales and marketing teams, will also provide guidance, support and direction to the company's regional marketing divisions. Most recently, Senior was FRHI's executive vice president, marketing & sales.

Damon Campbell has been appointed as Executive Chef at Shangri-La Hotel, Toronto

Damon Campbell has assumed the role of executive chef for Shangri-La Hotel, Toronto. Canadian Campbell has returned home after four years in Asia; most recently as executive sous chef at Edsa Shangri-La, Manila in the Philippines, a leading luxury hotel with six international restaurants. He first joined Shangri-La in 2008, working at the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur as chef de cuisine for the hotel’s award-winning signature restaurant, Lafite. During Chef Campbell's tenure, the restaurant won numerous "best fine dining in Kuala Lumpur" awards and he was nominated by Time Out magazine in 2009 for the 'Chef of the Year.' Before moving to Asia, Campbell spent seven years with Diva at The Met in Vancouver, British Columbia, a restaurant renowned for innovation. He also served as chef de partie at La Toque Blanche in West Vancouver (BC), an intimate dining room recognized by Gourmet magazine as one of the Top 20 Tables in North America. Campbell honed his skills at the world-renowned French Laundry in Napa Valley, California as chef de partie under the direction of Michelin-starred chef Thomas Keller.

Jaidev “JD” Menezes has been named director, residential development, EMEA at Fairmont Heritage Place brand

Fairmont’s residential and private residence club division, which includes the prestigious Fairmont Heritage Place brand, has named Jaidev “JD” Menezes, as director, residential development, EMEA. With a number of residential and mixed-use projects ongoing in the region and many more on the horizon, Menezes moves into this newly created position. Most recently he was the company’s senior manager of residential development. With his focus being Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, Menezes will be based out of the company’s Dubai Regional Office.

Tim Morrison has been appointed as Hotel Manager at Fairmont Royal York

Toronto’s Fairmont Royal York has tapped Tim Morrison as hotel manager. With a career spanning almost two decades, one of Morrison’s more notable posts was managing director/general manager for the Olympic and Paralympic Village for 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and Whistler. Most recently, Morrison was general manger at Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier in North Vancouver.

Daniel Boulud has been appointed as Chef de Cuisine at Boulud at Four Seasons Hotel Toronto

Straight from his brigade in New York City, Daniel Boulud has named Tyler Shedden as Chef de Cuisine of the much anticipated Café Boulud Toronto. A native to Canada’s west coast, Tyler began cooking in his grandmother’s kitchen before deciding he was destined for a career as a professional chef. He took his first steps in that direction in 1996 when he went to work as commis - or assistant cook - at Val d’Isere in Whistler. From C restaurant in British Columbia to Anthony’s in England, and with a final stint at Raincity Grill in Vancouver, Tyler moved to New York in 2006 to work with Gordon Ramsay as sous chef at the London NYC. In 2008 he was promoted to executive sous chef of the two Michelin star restaurant. Reaching that third Michelin star proved less difficult as Tyler moved on to become Private Dining Room Chef in May 2011, at DANIEL, Daniel Boulud’s fine dining establishment in New York City.
