Hyatt Announces Plans for First Andaz Hotel in Australia

Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) announced today that Hyatt has entered into agreements with Destination Gold Coast Consortium for an Andaz resort in the Gold Coast, Australia. Destination Gold Coast Consortium is a joint venture between parent company, The Star Entertainment Group, and its two partners, Far East Consortium and Chow Tai Fook Enterprises. Andaz Gold Coast will be part of an integrated resort masterplan, The Star Gold Coast. Slated to open in mid-2025, the hotel will mark the debut of luxury lifestyle brand Andaz in Australia and the Pacific region.

Sofitel Sydney Wentworth unveils first glimpse into $60 million transformation of iconic hotel

As Australia's first luxury hotel, it has hosted an array of international dignitaries and celebrities since its opening in 1966. 436 newly appointed guest rooms and suites spanning 15 storeys will be a part of the refurbishment. A new hospitality precinct will offer international travellers a taste of Australia's dining scene including two restaurants, two bars and one of Sydney's largest rooftop terraces. The hotel has released new images of what the new transformation will look like. Sofitel Sydney Wentworth has unveiled the first glimpse into its $60 million AUD update, which is set to launch in October 2024 after just ten months of work.

Jason Nuell has been promoted to Area VP – Australia, New Zealand and Pacific (ANZP) at Marriott International

Marriott International has appointed long-time employee Jason Nuell as Area Vice President for Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific (ANZP), succeeding Sean Hunt, who retired last month. Nuell has been with Marriott International for over 20 years, most recently serving as Vice President of Customer Experience and F&B Design Services for APEC. He has relocated from Marriott's Asia Pacific excluding China (APEC) headquarters in Singapore to Sydney to assume his new role.
