Ben has spent 12 years with TFE working across multiple brands and locations including Canberra, Adelaida, Sydney and Germany.Most recently, Ben has led the team at Adina Apartment Hotel Surry Hills, where he has consistently drove hotel performance, team engagement, and sought new business during challenging times. Ben also spearheaded the Adina's colourful property activation for World Pride 2023, earning the property public recognition and Ben an internal Stronger Together Award.

Amora Hotels & Resorts Unveils Five-Star Property in Brisbane Following USD20 Million Transformation

Thai-owned Amora Group has revealed its latest acquisition Amora Brisbane, transformed into a five-star leisure and business hotel after a AU$30 million (USD20 million) remodelling. The CBD hotel joins the group's expanding portfolio of six owned and operated hotels and resorts under the Amora brand in Australia and Thailand. Previously the Novotel Brisbane, Amora purchased the property from CDL Hospitality Trusts in 2020. Amora Brisbane's transformation follows hot on the heels of Amora Beach Resort Phuket's THB500 million (US$14 million) comprehensive refurbishment, which was completed in December 2023. Marriott International Inc. has appointed Krister Svensson as General Manager at W Melbourne & Multi Property Vice President, Luxury Hotels Australia.In the newly created dual role, Krister will oversee operations at W Melbourne whilst leading all luxury General Managers in Australia to deliver exceptional hospitality experiences for guests.Reporting to Sean Hunt, Area Vice President - Australia, New Zealand & Pacific, Svensson will have oversight of luxury properties in Australia, including the The Ritz-Carlton and W Hotel brands.The appointment coincides with a focus on luxury expansion for Marriott, particularly in the Asia Pacific, where the luxury segment is intrinsic to operations. The region accounts for a third of Marriott International's luxury hotels and over half of Marriott's global pipeline.A seasoned hotelier, Krister brings more than thirty years' experience in the hospitality industry across the Middle East, Pacific and Asia, specialising in luxury hotels.His career with Marriott International started in 2002 as a General Manager in Le Meridien Commodore Beirut and he has since led the hotel teams at The Westin Resort Guam, W Hong Kong, St. Regis Bangkok, W Singapore Sentosa Cove and most recently, Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park where Krister has overseen all operations since 2019.Krister brings his extensive General Management expertise to W Melbourne where he will lead the team in reinvigorating the hotel as it prepares for a resurgence in business and leisure travel.
