Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE:HOT) today announced that it has signed an agreement with Sydney based developer, JL Parramatta Pty Ltd to open Four Points by Sheraton Parramatta in the cosmopolitan city of Sydney in Australia, Located at 89 George Street in Parramatta's Central Business District, the 271-room new build hotel is scheduled to open in 2018.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Expands Westin Brand in Australia with the Signing of the Westin Coolum Resort & Spa

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) today announced it has signed an agreement with Sekisui House Australia to plan and operate The Westin Coolum Resort & Spa in Queensland's Sunshine Coast. Slated to open in 2021, the resort will be part of a proposed mixed use development featuring retail shops and boutiques, plus luxury apartments. Ideally located on pristine Yaroomba beach, The Westin Coolum Resort & Spa will be one of very few internationally branded beachfront resorts in Australia. Starwood will work closely with Sekisui House Australia throughout the planning and design processes for the hotel.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Expands Presence in Australia with the Signing of Four Points by Sheraton Sydney, Central Park

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE:HOT) today announced an agreement with joint venture partners, Frasers Property Australia and Sekisui House Australia, to open Four Points by Sheraton Sydney, Central Park. Located in the AU$2 billion Central Park urban village at the former Old Kent Brewery site, the 297-room new build hotel is scheduled to open in 2018 as part of a mixed-use development.

Hyatt Announces Plans for a Hyatt Regency Hotel in Sydney

Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) announced today that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement with a M&L Hospitality affiliate for a Hyatt Regency hotel in Sydney, Australia. The hotel, located at 161 Sussex Street and previously part of the Four Points by Sheraton brand, will be rebranded to Hyatt Regency Sydney at midnight on November 30, 2016, marking the Hyatt Regency brand's return to Sydney.

Scott McConnell has been appointed as Director of Global Sales, Leisure at Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the world’s largest and most dynamic hotel groups, today announced the appointment of Scott McConnell as director, Global Sales – Leisure, Asia Pacific. Scott will be spearheading the global sales for the leisure segment, leveraging on Carlson Rezidor’s innovative sales avenues, delivering greater revenue streams to the group’s portfolio of hotels. He will be responsible for key account management and the acquisition of new accounts, working in tandem with the Asia Pacific Commercial team. A seasoned industry professional with over 18 years’ experience, Scott was most recently the global account director with Langham Hospitality Group where he was responsible for the management of the leisure, travel, MICE and entertainment markets for their global portfolio. He also has a rich understanding of on-property sales having served positions at several hotels in Australia and the Millennium London Mayfair. Scott has a Bachelor of Business and a Bachelor of Tourism degree from Monash University in Melbourne. He is based in Sydney and reports to Cathy O’Connor, senior director, Global Sales – MICE, Asia Pacific.
