Liz joined AccorHotels in October 2010 and held both the Assistant Manager and Front Office Manager positions at the Mercure and Ibis Brisbane. Liz then relocated to Ibis Alice Springs as Assistant Hotel Manager in November 2013.

Mark has come full circle as he started his hospitality career as a section waiter at the hotel’s fine dining restaurant Olivers back in the late 1980s. Mark has held General Manager positions at Sofitel Queenstown, Sofitel Gold Coast and Novotel Twin Waters. His most recent role was General Manager, Mercure and Ibis Brisbane.

Already the most dominant hotel operator on the Gold Coast, Mantra Group is set to operate Australia's largest apartment hotel* situated in the heart of Surfers Paradise. Mantra Group has purchased the Towers of Chevron Renaissance management rights, which consists of 711 apartments across three towers reaching between 35 to 50 levels in height. The property has rebranded as Mantra Towers of Chevron Surfers Paradise and will bring the number of Mantra branded properties to 12 on the Gold Coast. Mantra Group now operates 21 properties on the Gold Coast across its Peppers, Mantra and BreakFree brands making it the largest hotel operator in the region.

Metro Hospitality Group has appointed Paul Rogers to the position of General Manager at the Metro Hotel located in Perth. Mr Rogers brings with him 25 years of international and domestic experience in the hospitality industry. In his new role, Mr Rogers is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the property, as well as identifying and capitalising on opportunities to grow the hotel’s leisure and corporate business. Prior to taking up this position, Mr Rogers was involved with Accor and Mirvac Hotels for 6.5 years in Vanuatu, Sydney & Perth. Mr Rogers has also previously operated his own award winning restaurant, Akudjura located in Kalgoorlie.
