Borealis Hotel Group opens 208-key Holiday Inn Express Brussels-Airport

Last year April Borealis Hotel Group announced, completely in line with its expansion strategy, the acquisition of various hotel projects in Belgium. It is with great pride and pleasure that, thanks to the close and excellent co-operation with the partners Candor, IHG Hotels & Resorts and Adagio, Borealis Hotel Group developed and finished 2 of these projects side by side. Borealis is very pleased to open the doors on 16 September of a fantastic Holiday Inn Express, designed according to the latest lay-out (larger rooms) and fitting and a beautiful Adagio Access. Both hotels are close to the Brussels Airport and easily accessible by car (E19 and E40). Also buses and trains, which take you efficiently to the center of Brussels or to the airport, are within walking distance. Holiday Inn Express Brussels-Airport offers 208 rooms (60 connecting rooms), 1 meeting room, a large Express Start Breakfast area where 180 people can have breakfast at the same time (so also suitable for larger groups), an Express Café, a Crew Lounge, 100 underground parking spots (including e-charging stations) and an outdoor terrace.

160-Key Adagio Access Brussels Airport Now Open

BANKS Antwerp now part of the Carlton Hotel Collection

Carlton Hotel Collection is expanding. The four-star BANKS Antwerp, located in the historic heart of the city, is the latest addition to its international hotel business. With its idiosyncratic character and unique location, the hotel fits perfectly within the collection. Carlton takes over both ownership and day-to-day operations. After fifteen years, owners Carla Bartels and Daan Terlingen handed over the baton on July 1. On the same date, Roelof Meijering will start as hotel manager in Antwerp. BANKS Antwerp is the second hotel in Belgium for Carlton Hotel Collection, bringing the total number of hotels to thirteen.

Edward Leenders has been appointed as Managing Director at Corinthia Brussels

Edward Leenders brings over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry to Corinthia Brussels, which is opening at the former Grand Hotel Astoria currently being entirely rebuilt on Rue Royale. Edward has previously held various leadership positions at luxury hotels and resorts around the world. Prior to joining Corinthia, he served as the Managing Director of Hotel De l'Europe in Amsterdam and before that worked for Rocco Forte Hotel Hotels for over a decade in London, Florence, and Brussels.

Norman Mark has been appointed as General Manager at Steigenberger Wiltcher's

Deutsche Hospitality is proud to welcome Norman Mark back in their hotelier's family as General Manager of the legendary Steigenberger Icon Wiltcher's in Brussels, one of the most outstanding hotels on the European continent. The General Manager, who was in his previous position in charge of the 5-star superior hotel "Hommage Luxury Hotels Collection" in Baden Baden, is a well-known colleague at Steigenberger. Steigenberger Hotels in Berlin, Bayreuth and Potsdam were important past assignments for Normann Mark. From 2015 to 2016 he was even the Interims General Manager at the Steigenberger Icon Wiltcher's.

PANDOX signs a new lease agreement with Citybox for a hotel property in central Brussels

Pandox AB has signed a lease agreement with the Norwegian operator Citybox for the current NH Brussels Louise, which Pandox acquired earlier in 2022. The lease agreement is expected to become effective during the first half of 2024 when the hotel reopens after an extensive renovation. The lease is revenue-based with a minimum rent and runs over 25 years with an option for a further 10 years.

Le Louise opens as first MGallery Collection hotel in Belgium

MGallery Hotel Collection has officially opened its first hotel in Belgium: Le Louise Hotel Brussels. The former Sofitel is located on Avenue de la Toison d'Or, between the historic center and the European quarters. The new hotel is a tribute to the city of Brussels, its inhabitants, architecture and gardens from around the world. The new hotel has 159 rooms and 10 suites and is aimed at guests visiting the European metropolis for both business and pleasure. Le Louise Hotel Brussels - MGallery is part of the MGallery Collection. The MGgallery Collection has more than 120 hotels in more than 30 countries worldwide.
