Paula Carreirão has been appointed as Chapter Leader Brazil at WHTT

With a bachelor degree in Psychology, Paula lived in two countries and three cities, worked in the hotel industry from being a front agent to hotel manager, and later change to Marketing in a Hotel Tech company. She is currently working in International Content Marketing at Asksuite. She is always focused on learning more which eventually lead Paula getting involved with WHTT's work first as a member, then instructor and now starting as Chapter Leader for Brazil. Paula Carreirão's appointment to WHTT is further the organisation's mission to increase the success and engagement in the workplace for women and other underrepresented groups, and to enable companies to attract, develop and retain potential diverse talent, nurtured by a powerful community. WHTT believes that by inspiring communities to enter the industry and organizations to leverage and retain in the sector, will create more diverse and inclusive leadership. Paula will take WHTT's global mission to the next level by opening a new local Chapter from Santa Catarina.

Ulisses Marreiros has been appointed as General Manager at Copacabana Palace, A Belmond Hotel

Ulisses Marreiros began his role as General Manager of Copacabana Palace January 2021, following his time as General Manager of La Residencia, A Belmond Hotel, Mallorca since 2013. Marreiros brings over 20 years of international hospitality experience to his new role, having previously worked at a number of high-profile hotels and resorts in the Maldives and Portugal before taking up his role as General Manager at Reid's Palace in Madeira, a hotel that has been welcoming guests for more than 125 years, in 2010. A Portuguese national, Marreiros is multilingual and speaks Spanish, Italian and German. Marreiros held a degree in hotel management from University of Algarve and also completed numerous leadership and management courses from renowned institutions such as Harvard Business School, Cornell University and Bocconi University in Milan. He is passionate about gastronomy and enjoys running as well as other active sports.

Edouard Grosmangin has been appointed managing director of Rosewood São Paulo, a luxury hotel opening in 2021 in one of Brazil's most vibrant cities. Housed in both a historic building and a new tower designed byPritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel, the hotel is situated in the heart of the city's Cidade Matarazzo complex. Rosewood São Paulo will be the brand's inaugural property in South America and will bring a new wave of residential luxury to the region. (NASDAQ: MAR) today announced that it has signed an agreement with KJP Participaçoes LTD to bring the W Hotels brand to Gramado, a mountain resort town in the Brazil's southernmost state, Rio Grande do Sul. The property will be the second W Hotel to open in country and the fourth in the Southern Cone of Latin America.
