Canada’s Hotel Construction Pipeline Ends 2021 with 262 Projects and 35,325 Rooms
According to the year-end Lodging Econometrics (LE) Construction Pipeline Trend Report for Canada, analysts at LE state that Canada’s hotel construction pipeline ended 2021’s fourth quarter at 262 projects/35,325 rooms. The pipeline is down a mere 3% by projects and up 2% by rooms, year-over-year (YOY).
STR: Canada hotel RevPAR 54% recovered in 2021
Despite stronger performance in the second half of 2021, Canada’s hotel industry reported revenue per available room (RevPAR) that was just 54.1% of the pre-pandemic comparable, according to STR’s year-end data.

Canada’s Hotel Construction Pipeline Continues to Show a Slight Decline at Q3’21 Close
Analysts at Lodging Econometrics (LE) report that, in the third quarter of 2021, Canada’s hotel construction pipeline stands at 257 projects/34,167 rooms. Pipeline projects declined slightly at the close of Q3’21, down 7% by projects and 5% by rooms, year-over-year (YOY). Projects under construction stand at 70 projects/9,039 rooms, down 20% by projects and 12% by rooms YOY.
