Okura Nikko Hotel Management Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Hotel Okura Co., Ltd., announced today that it will open Hotel Nikko Changshu in 2023. The hotel will be located at Changshu National New & Hi-Tech Zone in Changshu city, one of the county-level cities in the Suzhou of southeastern Jiangsu Province. The company has contracted with Changshu Kuncheng Development Investment Co., Ltd. to manage the new property through its joint venture BTG Nikko International Hotel Management Co., Ltd.

Mark Passmore has a wealth of experience in many different aspects of the hospitality industry. After graduating from the University of Gloucestershire, Mark eventually went on to serve as Deputy General Manager at the Hotel Seattle in Brighton as well as numerous other postings with Alias Hotels throughout the UK. He served as General Manager at the Avon Gorge Hotel in Bristol before moving his focus to Asia to join Swire Hotels in Hong Kong in 2007. Mark later moved on to become the General Manager of The Temple House in 2013, overseeing the preopening and opening of the award-winning property. In 2016, he relocated to Beijing as General Manager of the group's first property, The Opposite House. Together with The Opposite House team, Mark welcomed the 10th Year anniversary of the House in 2018. Later in 2020, he was transferred to Shanghai and took on the role of General Manager at The Middle House. Mark is passionate about photography, travel, and fine food and drink.
