Zleep Hotels and Core Hospitality merges

Danish hotel company Zleep Hotels A/S is merging with the third-party hotel management company Core Hospitality A/S, creating the 4th largest hotel operating company from Denmark. The merger happens immediately after a split with Deutsche Hospitality; while the German hotel group now owns 100% of the Zleep Hotels brand, Core Hospitality owns 100% of the operations in Denmark.

Felix Schaller has been appointed as Area General Manager & General Manager at 1 Hotels, Europe & 1 Hotel Copenhagen

With over two decades of hospitality experience, Felix Schaller has been appointed Area General Manager of 1 Hotels, Europe, and concurrently to General Manager of 1 Hotel Copenhagen, opening in 2025. . As Area General Manager, Europe, Schaller oversees world-class operations in the European market, managing existing hotels and handling pre-opening responsibilities for Treehouse Manchester (opening in 2024) and the transformation of Skt Petri into 1 Hotel Copenhagen (opening in 2025). He actively contributes to the company's European expansion, working on development deals for all three SH brands. As General Manager at 1 Hotel Copenhagen, Schaller oversees hotel renovations and pre-opening initiatives. Schaller joined SH Hotels in 2019 and most recently served as General Manager at 1 Hotel Toronto.

25hours Hotels will open their second property in Copenhagen on 27 July. 25hours Hotel Paper Island has found its home just a few steps away from Nyhavn. The eye-catching new build with its 128 rooms, Asian restaurant, day bar and rooftop bar is situated in the city centre on the island of Christiansholm, also known as Paper Island. For a long time, the headed-up island in Copenhagen harbour was used as a paper warehouse and was most recently the location of a well-known street food market. The Royal Opera House is located on the neighbouring island. Patrice Boman has been appointed as Cluster General Manager at Residence Inn & Fairfield by Marriott Copenhagen Nordhavn

Marriott is opening its 5th and 6th hotels in Copenhagen soon, launching two new brands in the Danish capital within one property. The two hotels will be led by a Cluster General Manager that the operating company, Core Hospitality, has now appointed: Patrice Boman. To take the lead at the upcoming dual-branded Marriott hotel in Copenhagen, operator Core Hospitality has recruited Patrice Boman as General Manager. Transferring from his role as Hotel Manager at Scandic Palace in Copenhagen, Patrice brings 15 years of experience from Marriott, Hilton, IHG and Radisson, as well as a bachelor's degree in hotel management from the University of Strathclyde.

Scandic expanding its Signature Collection in Denmark

Aarhus, which is located on Denmark's Jutland peninsula, is the second largest city in the country with about 330,000 inhabitants. Thanks to good infrastructure and connections, the city is easily accessible to domestic and international guests alike. Scandic already operates three hotels in Aarhus with a total of 541 hotel rooms and the new signature hotel will allow Scandic to strengthen its position as the leading hotel operator in the area. The new hotel will have 342 rooms.

Jurate Poluniovaite has been appointed as General Manager at moxy Tromsø

When Moxy Tromsø opens in June 2023, it will be led by an experienced Fun Hunter. The operating company, Core Hospitality, has appointed Jurate Poluniovaite to be the Captain (General Manager) of Moxy Tromsø. Jurate's experience with Moxy Hotels began in Oslo, where she was part of the Crew for over two years. She continued her journey as Crew Member at Moxy Copenhagen for another year, then supported the pre-opening process and management of the Moxy Bergen hotel for two years as Crew Leader (Front Office Manager). Now she is ready to take on her fourth Moxy hotel, this time taking the lead as Captain.

Zleep Hotel becomes first hotel partner of the innovative center in Horsens, Denmark

In 2024, Zleep Hotel will open its 16th hotel in Denmark. When the parking and recharging center, Recharge City in Horsens, northern Denmark, opens, Zleep Hotels - the economy brand of Deutsche Hospitality - will be a part of the new center that measures 270,000 square meter along with parking spaces, restaurants, and a filling station amongst others. Zleep Hotel Horsens gets 164 guest rooms divided between five floors, a lounge and breakfast area as well as a bar and reception. Recharge City is situated in the center of the country at exit 57 Horsens South on the E45 highway.

Deutsche Hospitality continues to expand with Zleep Hotels

Growth market Economy: On November 1, Zleep Hotel opens its 15 hotel in Denmark. The hotel company is thus further expanding its market position in the Scandinavian economy segment. Located in Havneøen, an urban district of Vejle, the hotel is nestled in an exclusive urban and residential area. Overlooking the Fjordenhus, a building designed by Olafur Eliasson, the hotel is located on Vejle's harbor.

Scandic to take over Hotel Opus in Horsens, Denmark

Scandic Hotels has signed an agreement to take over Hotel Opus in the Danish city of Horsens in Jutland. With proximity to nature, culture and shopping and housed in a building featuring modern Scandinavian architecture, the hotel is already a well-known landmark in the city. In addition to extensive conference facilities and a banquet hall, the hotel also has 132 rooms, a wellness area and a restaurant. The agreement is a long-term lease that will enter into force in October 2022.
