Hilton Continues German Expansion with Major Conversion in Invesco’s Heidelberg hotel

Ahead of this year's International Hotel Investment Conference (IHIF), Hilton (NYSE: HLT) has signed a franchise agreement to open Hilton Heidelberg, a 244-room upscale hotel in Heidelberg's city centre. The property will undergo a major refurbishment before welcoming guests in Summer 2022. The hotel is owned by Invesco Real Estate, the global real estate investment manager which acquired the property in 2017.

IntercityHotel To Open In Lübeck In 2023

Lübeck, known as the "City of Seven Spires" for the Gothic churches that punctuate its skyline, is set to become home to an IntercityHotel by 2023. The new build hotel will extend over six storeys and will include 176 rooms, a spacious lobby, a restaurant, a bar and various conference facilities. As is the case with all new generation IntercityHotels, interior design will be by the Italian architect Matteo Thun. The project is being realised as part of the existing cooperation agreement between Deutsche Hospitality and the "Commerz Real Institutional European Hotel Fund", via which Commerz Real, a property subsidiary of Commerzbank, has acquired the future hotel from the developer GBI.

The Hotel Europäischer Hof in Baden-Baden, which has a unique history stretching back for 180 years and which occupies an unencumbered location within the direct vicinity of the city's historic assembly rooms and spa, its Europe-wide renowned Casino and old quarter, will be operated as a Steigenberger Icon in future. Albert Steigenberger laid the foundations for Steigenberger Hotels AG when he acquired the building housing the Europäischer Hof in 1930. The company he started has now gone on to become Deutsche Hospitality, which manages 160 hotels across three continents.
