Sascha Wagner has been appointed as General Manager at IntercityHotel Wiesbaden

Sascha Wagner is to become General Manager of the new IntercityHotel in Wiesbaden. He will take up his post on 20 November and will initially be in charge of the pre-opening phase before going on to assume full responsibility as Director. Wiesbaden is located at the heart of the Rhine-Main Region and is the capital of the State of Hessen. The new 216-room hotel is being created in conjunction with the project development company GBI AG. 37-year old Mr. Wagner has worked for Deutsche Hospitality for many years and is a hotelier who will bring a wealth of experience to the role. Until the end of the year, he will also lend the company further support by continuing in his present function of Director of Processes and Systems in the Group Controlling Department.

Simon Betty has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer at Adina Europe

Following a global search, TFE (Toga Far East) Hotels has announced the appointment of Simon Betty to the newly created position of Chief Executive Officer, Adina Europe. The appointment comes as the Australian-owned Adina Hotels brand continues its European expansion with eight new hotel openings already confirmed for the next three years. These include openings in new markets: Vienna in Austria and Geneva in Switzerland the first time. TFE Hotels Chief Executive Officer, Antony Ritch, said TFE had significant growth ambitions for Adina Hotels, with plans for more than 50 hotels across Europe, including new markets and new countries. Simon Betty is currently Managing Director of City Quarters and Developments for UK-based commercial property developer, Hammerson - brought extensive experience in property development, expertise in large investment financial restructuring, and solid relationships across the investment and finance sectors to the table. As the Adina Europe Leadership Team, Matthias Niemeyer would continue to spearhead growth as the Director of Development, Europe and Georgios Ganitis would continue to oversee the European hotel operations as Director of Operations - Europe, both reporting to Betty, and working alongside himself and Sydney-based Group Chief Operating Officer, Chris Sedgwick. TFE (Toga Far East) Hotels Chairman, Allan Vidor, echoed Ritch’s sentiments, saying that with the growth opportunities in the pipeline and plans to introduce a new brand into Europe, the Board and TFE Hotels’ CEO Antony Ritch had sought a Chief Executive Officer for Adina Europe to drive growth, further develop the strong team and guest service culture, and bring together new strategic and entrepreneurial opportunities for the European business. Betty will relocate from Dublin to Berlin and is expected to start his new role in early 2021.

Sandra Wiegmann has been appointed as Director at IntercityHotel Kassel

New management at IntercityHotel: Sandra Wiegmann has become the new Director of the IntercityHotel Kassel with effect from 1 October. Ms. Wiegmann replaces Petra Bantle. Sandra Wiegmann already works for Deutsche Hospitality, having served as Revenue Manager and Head of Reservations at the Steigenberger Grandhotel & Spa Heringsdorf since September 2016. Ms. Wiegmann completed an hotel specialist apprenticeship before going on to obtain a degree in Tourism Management. Her career has also included stints at the Travel Charme Strandidyll Heringsdorf, the Travel Charme Gothisches Haus in Wernigerode and the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Schwerin.

Petra Bantle has been appointed as General Manager at IntercityHotel Dortmund

New management at IntercityHotel: Petra Bantle, will move to the IntercityHotel Dortmund in order to guide the hotel through its pre-opening phase and to take on the role of General Manager. Petra Bantle has her own prior experience with the Deutsche Hospitality brand portfolio. After vocational education and training in the occupation of hotel specialist at the Steigenberger Hotel Freudenstadt, Ms. Bantle held a range of different positions at the Steigenberger Hotel Bad Homburg, the Steigenberger Hotel Dortmund, the Steigenberger Inselhotel Konstanz and the IntercityHotel Ulm before being named Director of the IntercityHotel Kassel in 2014.

There has never been a hotel located so close to an airfield. The new 322-room Steigenberger Airport Hotel Berlin will open on schedule on 31 October 2020 to coincide with the launch of flight operations at Berlin Brandenburg Airport. The hotel will be sited immediately alongside the main terminal building. Its Director will be Steffi Wisotzky, who has recently turned the IntercityHotel Berlin Hauptbahnhof into one of the brand's most successful hotels. The landmark Steigenberger Airport Hotel Berlin will raise Steigenberger Hotels' presence in the German capital to three. The Hamburg-based property developer ECE was in charge of the development, leasing and realisation of the new Airport Hotel. ECE was also responsible for ensuring that the hotel was completed on schedule and that it will be ready to open at the time when the new airport is due to commence operations.

Deutsche Hospitality and Krasemann Immobilien join forces to develop the Zleep Hotel Hannover

The Zleep Hotel Hannover is set to become the third hotel in Germany to operate under the Scandinavian brand Zleep. The hotel is being developed in conjunction with Krasemann Immobilien, a property group which is responsible for the realisation of the project. The Zleep Hotel in Hanover will be a new build extending over five floors. Scheduled to open at the end of 2022, it will offer 124 Nordic-design rooms, a generously proportioned lounge delivering a true sense of "hygge" flair, an integrated reception space, a lobby and a breakfast and bar area. Zleep Hotels are presently also under development in Hamburg, Frankfurt/the Rhine-Main region, Madrid, Prague and Zurich. Further locations are at the planning stage.

Danny Vorwerk has been appointed as General Manager at Steigenberger Hotel Berlin

Danny Vorwerk is originally from the Netherlands, and the most recent appointments he has held have been Operations Manager at the Steigenberger Hotel Amsterdam and Financial Controller Netherlands for Deutsche Hospitality. After studying for a Bachelor degree in Hotel Management at the Hogeschool Notenboom in Hilversum, Mr. Vorwerk launched his professional career by securing various positions at NH Hotels in the Netherlands and Belgium. He finally arrived at Steigenberger after roles at BCN Utrecht and as Financial Controller Europe for the Azimut Hotel Group.
