Building on the success, credibility and respect of the International Hospitality Investment Forum (IHIF) accrued over the last 20 years, IHIF launches Adjacent Spaces, a bold new pop-up event for hospitality's innovators and game-changers. Adjacent Spaces will be held at The Pullman Hotel, Berlin on Tuesday 3rd March 2020 and will discuss adjacent concepts including; hostels, co-living, co-working, student accommodation, serviced apartments, senior living.

Jacqueline Kanits (53) will be the new Director of Revenue at NH Hotel Group from 25 October 2019. She will lead the Revenue department of the Northern Europe Business Unit, which comprises 127 hotels in Belgium, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland.
Thomas Bausch has performed extremely impressively in the role of Assistant Manager at the IntercityHotel Kassel over the past four years and is already very well acquainted with the IntercityHotel brand and with Deutsche Hospitality's product portfolio. After originally qualifying as a hotel specialist, Mr. Bausch went on to gain a wealth of valuable experience in the areas of reception and reservations at various hotel groups. He subsequently successfully completed a traineeship at Accor Hospitality Germany GmbH.
The new IntercityHotel Saarbrücken is scheduled to open for business in the second half of 2020. 41-year old Suat Cavdar has been entrusted with the task of supervising the pre-opening process and future direction of the hotel as the General Manager. Due to his previous positions as Hotel and Cluster Manager at Motel One he brings a host of leadership expertise to the table. Mr. Cavdar, who holds a degree in tourism and hotel management, began his career as Head of Reception at the Star Inn Hotel near Munich.
In Germany, Jumeirah Frankfurt welcomes Daniela Fette-Rakowski as General Manager of Jumeirah Frankfurt. Daniela holds 16 years in the hotel industry, and has a strong commercial background, having been responsible for driving the Sales & Marketing strategy with global brands such as Kempinski and Steinberger Hotels. Daniela transitioned into operations with Rocco Forte Hotels, and her most recent role was as Hotel Manager at the Rocco Forte Villa Kennedy Hotel, Frankfurt.

The IntercityHotel Kiel will be managed by Anja Jansen with effect from 1 October 2019. Her previous stations included the Renthof in Kassel. Essen-born Ms. Jansen has also worked for renowned national and international hotels on Mallorca and Cran Canaria as well as in Hamburg and Frankfurt during the course of her career.
The IntercityHotel Hamburg Dammtor-Messe opened for business in 2014 under the management of Thomas Nixdorf, who began his career as a General Manager at IntercityHotel when the IntercityHotel Hannover launched. Mr. Nixdorf originally trained as a hotel specialist at the Central Hotel Kaiserhof Hannover. He subsequently became Night Auditor at the Quality Inn Hotel Plaza Hannover before moving on to become a Sales Representative at the same hotel in 1991. After a rebranding Nixdorf took over in the team Hotel Plaza the position of the Front Office Manager and from 1994 in addition to the Resident Manager. In 1996 he was appointed General Manager. In 2012, Nixdorf received the "General Manager of the Year" award from IntercityHotel. He will head up the pre-opening phase at the IntercityHotel Hannover Hauptbahnhof Ost with effect from 1 October 2019.
Burkhard Kohlhoff was appointed General Manager of the IntercityHotel Hamburg Hauptbahnhof as long ago as 2011. As of 1 October 2019, he will be taking up the reins at the IntercityHotel Hamburg Dammtor-Messe. Hamburg-born Mr. Kohlhoff had previously already been based in the city during the period when he was responsible for Regional Sales at Vila Vita Hotels. He is able to look back on a long career in the hotel sector, which has included stints at Ramada Renaissance, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Dorint Hotels in Hamburg, Munich and Regensburg. Most recently, he was named "General Manager of the Year" by IntercityHotel this year.
Ulrike Fröhlich has been appointed new Director of the IntercityHotel Hamburg Hauptbahnhof and will also take up her position on 1 October 2019. Ms. Fröhlich has, in fact, been familiar with her new place of work since 2006. After completing training as a hotel specialist, she went on to work there as Deputy Manager and Head of Reception. She has also been employed at the IntercityHotel Freiburg and in the last years Fröhlich worked as General Manager at the IntercityHotel Kiel. She also has experience in various positions at Maritim and in the private hotel industry.
NH Hotel Group has won the tender to operate the hotel that will be built in the top of the stunning St. Pauli bunker in the city of Hamburg. The building will have 136 rooms, a bar, a café and a restaurant. It is scheduled to open mid-2021.

The HRS Group, the leading Global Hotel Solutions end to end technology provider in business travel, today announced the acquisition of startup conichi (legally "Hotel Beacons GmbH") and will integrate their technology into the HRS payment product platform. The Berlin startup, launched in 2014, had previously operated independently. HRS has now acquired all remaining conichi shares, and this transaction will make the brand and all conichi employees an integral part of the HRS Group.
