Robert Boller has been appointed as Managing Director at MAXX Hotel GmbH

Robert Boller will head up MAXX with immediate effect as managing director. He has just completed 18 successful years with IntercityHotel GmbH. During this time, he held General Manager positions in Mannheim, Düsseldorf and Kiel before moving on to the Corporate Office in 2013. His most recent function has been as Senior Director of Operations for IntercityHotel, and he will continue to exercise this task on a transitional basis until the end of the year prior to focusing entirely on his new remit with effect from 1 January 2019.

NOVUM Hospitality develops one of the largest niu hotels at the Dusseldorf hub

Over 5 million overnight stays – that"s this year"s extremely positive forecast for the hotel market in Dusseldorf. The steadily growing numbers as well as the increase in particularly international overnight stays offer NOVUM Hospitality an ideal environment for its young midscale concept niu. Together with the proprietor and developer Peker GmbH, as well as RKW+ Architekten, the family-run hotel group is planning a niu called niu Hubbetween the city and airport on the Vogelsanger Weg – an ideal location for not only business travellers. As things stand at present, the niu hotel will open in spring 2021 – with 226 hotel rooms and 201 apartments, one of the largest of the currently 50+ planned niu hotels. Richard Engelmayer has been appointed as General Manager at Steigenberger Hotel Berlin (Los Angeles Platz)

A management change is in the pipeline at the Steigenberger Hotel Berlin on Los Angeles Platz near the Kurfürstendamm. Gondra Wettley, who recently received a "General Manager of the Year Award" from Deutsche Hospitality in recognition of her outstanding achievements, will depart to enjoy a well-deserved retirement before the end of the year. So as to facilitate as smooth a transition as possible, arrangements have already been made to appoint a successor in the person of Richard Engelmayer. Mr. Engelmayer has worked for the company for 25 years and is General Manager of the Steigenberger Airport Hotel in Frankfurt am Main since May 2013.

Gabriele Maessen has been appointed as Regional Director and General Manager at Steigenberger Hotel Am Kanzleramt

Gabriele Maessen will take over the reins at the Steigenberger Hotel am Kanzleramt in Berlin with effect from April 2018. She will also be responsible for Steigenberger Hotels in the East Region as Area General Manager. Alongside the Steigenberger Hotel am Kanzleramt, her remit in this latter capacity will include the Steigenberger Hotel Berlin, the Steigenberger Hotel Sanssouci in Potsdam, the Steigenberger Hotel de Saxe in Dresden, the Steigenberger Hotel Esplanade and the Maxx Hotel in Jena.

Stefan Frank has been appointed as General Manager at Steigenberger Airport Hotel

Successor at the Steigenberger Airport Hotel will be Stefan Frank, who will be joining Deutsche Hospitality on 1 July. Mr. Frank has gathered many years of professional experience at the InterContinental Hotels Group, where his most recent role has been Pre-Opening General Manager and Area General Manager for the brand InterContinental Hotels in Eastern Europe covering Sofia, Moscow, Kiev and Bucharest.
