Jan-Hendrik Meidinger has been appointed as General Manager at The Excelsior

Jan-Hendrik Meidinger also brings 25 years of luxury hospitality experience to Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. He joins The Excelsior from his most recent role as General Manager of Park Hyatt Saigon. Jan-Hendrik joined the Hyatt Group as Assistant Front Office Manager at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong in 1999, and rose to Executive Assistant Manager, Rooms. He was later appointed General Manager of Hyatt Regency Guam in 2010. A German national, Mr Meidinger graduated from the University of Surrey, UK, majoring in International Tourism and Hospitality Management.

Siim Karu has been appointed as Director of Revenue Management at pentahotels

pentahotels expands its leadership team in Asia to the position of Director of Revenue Management. The lifestyle hotel group is responding to the success of the concept and the strongly growing demand in Asia. This newly created position is occupied by an employee from within the company. Siim Karu, Cluster Revenue Manager at the headquarters in Frankfurt, was therefore appointed to Hong Kong. From there, he is responsible for portfolio strategy, pricing and sales channels of the Asian hotels.

Irene (Ai Ling) Lee has been appointed as Director Sales - North Asia at ADARA, Inc.

Irene (Ai Ling) Lee will take on the role of Sales Director, North Asia and will operate from the new Hong Kong office. Irene comes on board with 17 years of APAC advertising and media industry experience. She joins ADARA from Publicitas in Hong Kong where she focused on the travel and tourism sector, working with clients such as the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Hangzhou Tourism, Chengdu Tourism, Peninsula Hotels, Vietnam Airlines and Cathay Pacific.

Jason Shek has been appointed as Director of Marketing at JW Marriott Hong Kong

Prior to joining the JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong, Jason was with the Mandarin Oriental Macau for 3 years as Director of Sales and Marketing, where he led the hotel to achieve successful results and numerous awards, including the prestigious Forbes Travel Guide 2015 “Top 10 Triple 5-Star Hotels in the World” and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group “Best Sales & Marketing Award” in Asia Pacific. Jason started his career with the Excelsior Hotel, Hong Kong as a Guest Service Agent in Front Office; subsequently, moving on to focus on Sales with flagship hotels of local conglomerates, Hutchison Whampoa Limited and Sun Hung Kai Properties. His credentials also include Regional Director, Sales & Marketing with the Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts – Greater China, where he was responsible for 3 key resorts. His first job in Macau was with the Four Seasons as Director of Sales.

Shaun Campbell has been appointed as Managing Director at The Langham, Hong Kong

Bob van den Oord, the current managing director of The Langham, Hong Kong will be taking on the same role at The Langham, London which recently celebrated its milestone 150th anniversary. Taking over van den Oord’s responsibilities as managing director of The Langham, Hong Kong is Shaun Campbell. Formerly the general manager of Cordis, Hong Kong, Campbell successfully spearheaded the brand transition of the 664-room hotel from a Langham Place to Cordis in July this year.
