IHG Hotels & Resorts celebrates a new era of luxury in Rome with spring opening of InterContinental

InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace will open in May 2023, reimagined as an icon of "La Dolce Vita." Located in the heart of Rome on the legendary Via Veneto, the property bears the signature of the renowned Italian architect Carlo Busiri Vici, originally built in 1900 to host ambassadors staying in Rome, before serving as the American Embassy Library in 1946. Featuring 160 rooms and luxury suites in a style that combines neo-classical details with chic contemporary design, the hotel embodies both charm and historical splendour. Multiple culinary delights await guests including Scarpetta NYC, serving elevated Italian and American cuisine for lunch and dinner in a genuine, intimate and convivial urban space in addition to Charlie's Rooftop and Anita's Bar and Lounge. Charlie's Rooftop will be the only roof top venue in the city open all year round, allowing travellers and locals alike to come together for aperitivo or late-night cocktails whatever the weather.

Ruby with second project in italy

Ruby Hotels, led by founder and CEO Michael Struck, continues to successfully drive its expansion in Southern Europe. After Florence, the Munich hotel group will also open its first Lean Luxury hotel in Rome. The new hotel will be built in a former office building with a historical façade, directly in the heart of Rome near the Spanish Steps. It will have approximately 165 rooms and a 24/7 bar with café and a rooftop terrace overlooking Rome's city centre.

Continuing Minor Hotels' European expansion, Anantara Grand Hotel Convento di Amalfi will open in Spring 2023 following extensive restoration and renovation works. The heritage hotel, occupying a 13th-century monastery and former Cappuccini Friars Convent, will be lovingly restored to its original glory. The historic property will reveal new-look accommodation, refreshed dining concepts and a completely redesigned spa, all perched on a clifftop 80 metres above the sea level with spectacular views of the Mediterranean Coast.

Imelda Shllaku has been appointed as General Manager at Hotel La Palma, Capri

Oetker Collection is delighted to announce Imelda Shllaku has been appointed General Manager of its first Italian Masterpiece Hotel, Hotel La Palma, which will open its doors in Spring 2023, effectively from March 2023.With a career in the luxury hospitality industry spanning almost three decades, Imelda Shllaku brings with her an impressive global perspective. The Italian native has previous opening experience, having undertaken her first Hotel Manager role with Sina The Gray in Milan, before stints in Dublin and Krabi Island with The Ritz Carlton. She then spent seven years with Bulgari Hotel & Resorts, overseeing properties in London and Milan in various positions. She subsequently enjoyed tenures as Director of Rooms at the Armani Hotel, Dubai, and One & Only in the Maldives.A year as a performance consultant overseeing 15 major luxury hotels followed, before undertaking the General Manager role at Baglioni Hotel London. Most recently, she served as Global Director of Rooms & Guest Experiences for Kerzner International.
