Alessandro Maurizio Cabella has been appointed as General Manager at Rome Cavalieri, Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts

Rome Cavalieri, Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts has named Alessandro Maurizio Cabella as general manager of the hotel, which has led the way in unforgettable service and authentic moments for 50 years in the Eternal City. The native Italian joins the property with 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry with a strong focus in Europe. Cabella will direct and oversee the day-to-day operations of the landmark hotel. Cabella has been in the Hilton family for 10 years during which he managed the launch of Conrad Algarve in 2012 and most recently acted as the general manager for Hilton Molino Stucky Venice. His general manager experience also includes stints at the Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa in Portugal and Hotel Mirabeau - Société des Bains de Mer Monte Carlo in Monaco. NH Hotel Group buys out Intesa Sanpaolo’s stake in NH Italia

Today NH Hotel Group signed an agreement with Intesa Sanpaolo under which it will acquire the latter's 44.5% stake in NH Italia in exchange for shares. Intesa Sanpaolo set up the Italian joint venture with NH Hotel Group, which owns the remaining 55.5%, in 2007. Accordingly, the deal will entitle NH Hotel Group for the 100% of NH Italia, which is currently active in the hotel business in Italy and the US, as well as operating hotel establishments in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium.

Rocco Forte Hotels has announced the appointment of Mauro Governato as General Manager for Hotel de Russie in Rome. Mr. Governato takes over from Stefano Gegnacorsi, who was with the hotel for eight years. Governato has been in the hospitality industry for 29 years. Previously, he was General Manager at the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon. Bringing a wealth of management experience to his new role, his career has taken him from the Four Seasons Resort Provence a Terre Blanche-France to the One&Only Le Saint Géran (Mauritius) and One&Only Kanuhura (Maldives). Early on, Governato was in the food and beverage industry, working in Michellin-starred restaurants across Europe.
