Kuala Lumpur/Geneva, November 18, 2014; Kempinski Hotels and KSK Group Berhad (KSK Group), via its property development arm KSK Land Sdn Bhd (KSK Land) announce the signing of a management agreement for the high profile, large-scale luxury development, 8 Conlay, in the heart of Kuala Lumpur's Golden Triangle. The approximately 260-key Kempinski hotel and the branded Kempinski Residences with 403 units will anchor the development in the hotel tower, together with up to 1,092 units of 8 Conlay Residences serviced by Kempinski in two adjoining towers, all linked via a central retail podium. KSK Land has selected the design collective YOO for the interior design of the first residential tower and RSP Architects to master plan the development. Kempinski will operate and service all three components of the project. The ground breaking is scheduled to take place early next year and the striking project is expected to be completed in 2020. Residences comprising the first residential tower are scheduled to become available for sale from March 2015 onward. Show units will be available for viewing at the exclusive sales gallery located on the site.
Mr Michel has more than 30 years of experience in the hotel industry, having working in international assignments that gave him a wide exposure and the opportunity to adapt to a multi-cultural environment across various remote destinations. “It is an exciting time to be joining the Rasa Ria team, and the opportunity to work and live in such an exotic tropical setting,” said Mr Michel. “My special focus will be the resort’s expansion of guest facilities, including the renovation of spa treatment rooms, building of a new specialty restaurant and the addition of 83 Premier Rooms to Ocean Wing, making this a 499-room resort by end of 1st quarter 2015.” A Swiss national, Mr Michel is fluent in English, French and German, with knowledge of Italian, Portuguese. Prior to this appointment, he served as general manager at Kempinski Seychelles Resort, Le Mirador Kempinski Lake Geneva and Constance Ephelia Resort Seychelles. Mr Michel previously spent several years in senior positions at One&Only Le Saint Geran Mauritius, Reid’s Palace Madeira, an Orient-Express property, as well as a number of luxury properties in the West Indies, Malta, France and Switzerland. He began his career from a culinary apprenticeship in Switzerland and later graduated from Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne.

Since moving on from Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa in 2008, Colin has served with Nikko Hotel in Tianjin, Shangri-La Hotel in Xian, Inter-Continental Hotel in Hangzhou and Raffles in Hainan in various capacity; his last position being Resident Manager at Raffles' bespoke property in Hainan, China. Although a Malaysian, Colin received his early education in Singapore and graduated in Hotel Management from the Hotel Institute in Montreux, Switzerland in 1992.

(NYSE:HOT) today announced it has signed an agreement with IOI Properties Group to manage two hotels – Four Points by Sheraton Puchong and Le Méridien Putrajaya, slated to open in the fall of 2014 and 2015, respectively. These two new hotels will add 599 rooms to Starwood's robust portfolio in the country and reflect Starwood's desire to expand into the fast growing districts of Malaysia.
