Born in Strasbourg, Vincent graduated from the School of Tourism and Hotel Management in Strasbourg, France, and in 1994 started his career in the food & beverage field as a chef.
Grand Hyatt Muscat recently announced the appointment of Garry Friend as its new general manager. Friend joins from Grand Hyatt Doha with extensive experience in Hyatt properties. He is set to begin his tenure with Grand Hyatt Muscat on January 13.

IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group), the world"s largest hotel group by number of rooms, and Muscat Golf Course Project LLC today announce the signing of a 20-year management agreement for the luxury InterContinental Muscat Hills Golf Resort in Oman. Signed during the 2012 Arabian Hotel Investment Conference taking place in Dubai, the hotel will form part of the Muscat Hills Golf and Country Club – a 1.2 million square metre development set in a unique hillside location with spectacular panoramic mountain and sea views over the Gulf of Oman. Before Zighy Bay, James was the Head Chef for Assemblage based in London, where he was responsible for successfully creating a desirable menu and restaurant concept. Prior to this he held the position of Demi Chef du Parti at Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saissons, the two star Michelin restaurant and hotel, in Oxfordshire. James will be introducing a new menu concept at Sense on the Edge based on international recipes and integrating rich Arabic spices fresh from the resorts Organic garden. Guests will be able to choose from three or five courses which consist of dishes such as Arabic spiced roasted scallops, almond and pine nut crumble, cauliflower and apple with pomegranate kernels. The concept has been created to create a fresh new dining experience for new and returning guests.
