Before joining the St. Kitts Marriott team as the new Director of Finance, Benjamin Kim has accumulated 14 years of experience most recently as the director of finance & accounting at The Ritz Carlton Club and Residences in Kapalua, Hawaii and at Guam Marriott Resort & Spa. Kim holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Brigham Young University-Hawaii, and continued his studies in business enterprise at the Southern Institute of Technology in Invercargill, New Zealand.

Sharon Bathory has been appointed as Director of Human Resources at St. Kitts Marriott Resort & The Royal Beach Casino

Seasoned hospitality industry leader joins St. Kitts Marriotts management team as director of human resources. Bringing 20 years of hospitality experience to the full-service resort, Bathory will oversee all a spects of the propertys human resources operations. Bathory joins St. Kitts Marriott Resort from Starwood Hotels & Resorts where she served as director of human resources for 16 years. During the span of her career with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Bathory worked for brands such as Sheraton, Westin, W Hotels, Luxury Collection and St. Regis.

Jim Bishop has been appointed as Director of Sales at Four Seasons Resort Nevis

Bishop is no stranger to the Four Seasons brand, having worked at the flagship Four Seasons Hotel New York at the start of his career. Over the past 25 years, he has carved his niche in the luxury travel category. Most recently, he served as director of sales for the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Previously, he served as the Maybourne Hotel Group’s regional director of sales for the Americas, overseeing all aspects of the division’s sales office in New York City and representing the company’s three London hotels: Claridge’s, the Connaught and the Berkeley. Before joining Maybourne, he held senior sales positions with Mandarin Oriental, first for the Washington, DC property and later for the Miami location. Bishop’s previous career experience also includes senior sales roles with Bellagio Las Vegas, KSL Resorts and the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. Bishop earned a Bachelor of Arts from Penn State University. He lives in South Florida with his wife, Susan, who is also a member of the Four Seasons family, and their two kids, Olivia and Quinn.

Awet Sium has been appointed as Resort Manager at Four Seasons Resort Nevis

A passionate hotelier from the beginning, Resort Manager Awet Sium knew early in his hospitality career that his goal was to land a leadership opportunity with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. He joined Four Seasons in 2012 as Hotel Manager for Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis and transferred to Four Seasons Hotel Boston in the same role in 2013. Sium, with his eye on Nevis and the Caribbean as one of his favourite destinations in the world, joined the Nevis team from Boston in late 2014.

Edward Gannon has been appointed as General Manager at Four Seasons Resort Nevis

Prior to his appointment as General Manager in December 2014, Gannon was the Resort Manager at Four Seasons Resort Nevis. Before transferring to Nevis in June 2014, Gannon spent two years as the Hotel Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Austin. Prior to the Austin post, he was hotel manager at Rosewood’s Sand Hill property in Menlo Park, California. No stranger to island life, Gannon spent eight years working in exotic settings ranging from Rosewood Hotels and Resorts’ Jumby Bay, Antigua, to Caneel Bay, St. John, USVI, in the Caribbean. Gannon also served as resort manager for four years at Martha’s Vineyard’s Winnetu Oceanside Resort.

Catherine Phillips has been appointed as Director of Spa at St. Kitts Marriott

Born and raised in California, Director Catherine Phillips brings extensive experience to the luxurious full-service facility and is excited to expand and build on the facility’s wide array of revitalizing treatments. Director Phillips brings a unique passion and more than twenty years in the spa, salon and wellness industry to this new role at St. Kitts Marriott’s Emerald Mist Spa. Phillips most recently served as a member of the spa management team at Marriott’s Renaissance Lodge in her native Sonoma, California. Prior to returning to her home state, Phillips’ enthusiasm for culture and travel led her to accept a management position in England’s Lake District in 2006.

Diego Lemasson has been appointed as Food & Beverage Operations Manager at St. Kitts Marriott

Food & Beverage Operations Manager Diego Lemasson (right) has developed expansive knowledge of hospitality management during his decade-long career. Most recently serving as an integral part of the leadership team at the Marriott Paris Charles de Gaulle, Lemasson brings an international and multicultural perspective to the resort’s day-to-day operations of restaurants and lounges.

Joseph Niemeier has been appointed as Director of Food & Beverage at St. Kitts Marriott

Starting his career in hospitality more than 30 years ago, Director of Food & Beverage Joseph Niemeier has experience in every facet of the culinary and hotel management industry. A longtime member of the Marriott family, Niemeier most recently served as Director of Food & Beverage overseeing Indianapolis Marriott Downtown where he led his team to rank within the top 5 percent in overall satisfaction within the Marriott brand. Niemeier is excited to bring his dedication to excellence in service and cuisine to the team at St. Kitts Marriott Resort to oversee all food and beverage operations. Recipient of multiple industry accolades including Marriott International Executive Chef of the Year in 2007 and 2012, Chef Quitney will undertake the responsibility of directing culinary operations of the resort’s eight restaurants including its three signature outlets, in-room dining and the resort’s private catering and banquet functions. Most recently serving as Executive Chef of the JW Marriott Washington D.C., Quitney brings many years of experience to this new role and is excited to continue developing his passion for exquisite food in a destination so rich with local flavors. -

Stephen Calland has been appointed as Director of Food & Beverage at St Kitts Marriott Resort

Stephen Calland’s passion for food & beverage combined with over 30 years of international culinary industry experience provides him with a wealth of understanding and expertise in all aspects of food & beverage. From being Head Chef at an Organics Institute in the UK, Stephen then moved into management where he introduced numerous successful food and beverage programs, branding initiatives and revenue-driven strategies to a number of luxury boutique properties in the UK and Mallorca, including The Alias Hotel Kandinsky, Stratford Manor, Stratford Victoria and The Welcombe Hotel. Stephen then moved to the Caribbean where he was responsible for the pre-opening and subsequent operation of Bel Jou Hotel, Saint Lucia. Following two years as Director of Food & Beverage at the Sonesta Great Bay Resort & Casino in Phillipsburg, Saint Maarten, Stephen undertook numerous food & beverage consultancy projects around the Caribbean including Aruba, Tobago and Jamaica before joining our luxury St Kitts resort.

William Stringfellow has been appointed as Executive Chef at The St Kitts Marriott Resort & the Royal Beach Casino

With 25 years of culinary experience, the UK-born Chef Stringfellow brings expertise and influence from many different areas of the world including Thailand, Malaysia, Japan, Central and North Africa, Saudi Arabia, Europe and the USA. His most recent assignment was in Hong Kong at the Regal Airport Hotel. Under his guidance, the hotel was awarded “Best Airport Hotel in the World” for four consecutive years by Business Traveller UK Magazine. Chef Stringfellow has already begun his assimilation into the St Kitts Marriott family and in his new post will oversee the menus and staff for all eight of the resorts casual and upscale dining establishments. Through the combination of his expertise, the existing team of culinary professionals, and the introduction of more local flavors and cuisine into the menus, an exceptional food and beverage program is in store for guests.

Jacques Hamou has been appointed as General Manager at St. Kitts Marriott

St. Kitts Marriott Resort & Royal Beach Casino announces the appointment of Jacques Hamou as general manager. In this position, Hamou will oversee all aspects of the hotel operations including the maximization of guest satisfaction, financial performance and staff development. Hamou’s extensive career in the hospitality industry spans over 30 years as he joins the property from Montreal where he served as general manager for the Montreal Marriott Chateau Champlain for thirteen years. Previously, Hamou was at Fortis Hospitality Corporation in Sydney, Nova Scotia, where he held the position of director of operations for Delta Sydney, Holiday Inn Sydney and the Sydney Inn.
