Hyatt Announces Plans for the First Hyatt Hotel in St. Lucia

Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) announced today that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement with TTS Resorts LTD. for the first Hyatt-branded hotel in St. Lucia. The 345-room luxury Grand Hyatt hotel is expected to open in 2023 and signifies Hyatt's continued brand growth into the Caribbean's leading travel destinations. A new-build resort, Grand Hyatt St. Lucia will be located on the southwestern corner of the island in Sunset Bay, Choiseul.

Maxine Jemison has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Harbor Club St. Lucia, Curio Collection by Hilton

Maxine "Max" Jemison,  comes to The Harbor Club from Eden Roc and Nobu in Miami. Ms. Jemison joins the team with an extensive experience in hotel sales and marketing, having worked for brands including Marriott, Starwood and Hilton. She will be responsible for managing the sales team with a focus on developing partnerships with corporate accounts, executing meetings and events, and coordinating destination weddings.

Johann (Fritz) Zwahlen has been appointed as Executive Chef at Harbor Club St. Lucia, Curio Collection by Hilton

Chef Zwahlen joins the team with three decades of experience and has led culinary teams at renowned properties such as Carillon Miami Beach Wellness Resort, Amanyara in Turks and Caicos, and the Amangala Resort in Sri Lanka. His culinary prowess has earned him global acclaim and with over two decades of experience in the luxury resort industry, Chef Zwahlen is uniquely poised to make the Harbor Club a culinary destination.

Lester Scott has been appointed as Managing Director at Harbor Club St. Lucia, Curio Collection by Hilton

The Harbor Club, a Hilton Curio Collection hotel, has brought on Lester Scott as Managing Director of the property located on the beautiful Rodney Bay in St. Lucia. Lester brings over 25 years of experience within the luxury hospitality space across three continents and eight different countries. Before joining The Harbor Club team, Lester served prominent roles with the Capella Hotel Group and Ritz Carlton, where he developed his significant expertise managing world-class service teams to drive the strategic objectives for the hotel and at the corporate level. In this new roll, Lester is working to revamp the hotel with new dining concepts, entertainment options and hotel offerings. In addition, he will manage hotel operations, day-to-day staff management and overseeing guest experience.

Andrew Jones has been appointed as Executive Chef at Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort

Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort in St. Lucia has welcomed new Executive Chef Andrew Jones to lead the culinary team across their six restaurant and bar venues - from a feet-in-the-sand restaurant to a sleek sushi bar. Hailing from London, Chef Jones worked most recently as Executive Chef & Director of the seafood restaurant, Chamberlain's of London, where he catered in several royal palaces and cooked for members of the British Royal Family. Prior to that, he was the Executive Chef of the hotel, The Westbury, London, where he headed up two Rosettes Artisan Restaurants, which were voted in the top 10 highest-rated restaurants by OpenTable UK (formerly Toptable). He began his career in 1995 as the Premier Sous Chef of Claridge's, London after graduating from South East Essex Technical College in east London.

Armin Asceric, Sugar Beach's new Associate Director of Sales, Marketing and Public Relations, has been based in St. Lucia for ten years and returns to Sugar Beach following six years at The Body Holiday where he was Head of Marketing. Prior to this, Asceric worked for Sugar Beach Residences as well as its predecessor, The Jalousie Plantation, subsequently bringing with him a wealth of knowledge for the property and its history. Asceric has considerable experience in delivering innovative marketing campaigns across the luxury market and is an expert on the destination.

Petra Trapp has been appointed as Resort Manager at Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort

Petra Trapp joins Sugar Beach from Laucala Island Resort in Fiji, where she was General Manager for over a year. Prior to this, Trapp has held General Manager positions at Les Deux Tours and Banyan Tree in Marrakech, as well as a Resort Manager role in Athuruga Island Resort in the Maldives, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and a passion for luxury hotels. Trapp is adept at immersing herself in new cultures and speaks multiple languages.

Curio Collection by Hilton Expands its Caribbean Resort Footprint with Signing of Harbor Club St. Lucia

Hilton (NYSE: HLT) today announces the signing of Harbor Club St. Lucia, Curio Collection by Hilton, the brand"s first property on the island and a welcomed addition to Hilton"s expanding portfolio in the Caribbean. Owned by The Harbor Club Ltd., the nautically-inspired hotel is set to join Curio Collection by Hilton in April 2018. The property features 115 spacious cabin-style rooms and suites, 10 bars and dining outlets, four swimming pools, a spa, world class gym and meeting space.

Mark Sterner has been appointed as General Manager at Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort

Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort has announced the appointment of Mark Sterner as General Manager of the over 100-acre beach front resort between St Lucia’s UNESCO World Heritage-listed Pitons. He takes over from Andre Boersma who held the position for the last eight years. A five-year veteran of the Viceroy Hotel Group, German-born Mark is the son of hoteliers and grew up in Africa before attending hotel school in Hanover, Germany. Prior to joining Sugar Beach, Mark was the General Manager and Hotel Manager of Viceroy Yas, Abu Dhabi, and was also General Manager of Viceroy Maldives for two years. In his close to 25-year career in the hospitality industry, he has also worked at the Langham in London, K-Club in Barbuda, at Burj Al Arab in Dubai, Gleneagles in Scotland, Sandy Lane in Barbados, Little Dix Bay in the British Virgin Islands and The Carlyle in New York.

Yasa Sereno has been appointed as Vibe Manager at Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort

Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort is delighted to announce the appointment of Yasa Sereno as its Vibe Manager. In this role, Sereno will be responsible for overseeing and working with the team on all creative levels, including pre-recorded and live entertainment, lighting, mood creation, programming, social media binding and themed events. Before joining Sugar Beach, Sereno has worked over the past 14 years as a Creative Director in some of the world’s leading resorts. This includes time spent in Dubai, the Maldives, Bahamas and Mexico as Creative Architect at One&Only Resorts Worldwide and with Atlantis Resorts in both the Bahamas and Dubai. Over the last sixteen years, Yasa Sereno founded Identity Productions where he worked as a freelance creative consultant to assist worldwide premium brands such as Cartier, Rolls-Royce, Moet & Chandon and Tiffany & Co. Past projects have included the creation of conceptualized individual soundscapes for restaurants, spas, pool areas and public areas to induce a sense of space, individuality and unique sophistication. Sereno has also been involved in partnerships with organizations such as Keep a Child Alive, a charity co-founded by Alicia Keys, and its annual Black Ball fundraising event. As part of the Sugar Beach team, it is anticipated that Sereno will oversee the establishment of innovative and creative events to ensure that guests at the resort have a truly unique stay

Stefan Goehcke has been appointed as Executive Chef at Anse Chastanet and Jade Mountain

Internationally recognized culinary giant Stefan Goehcke has joined two of the Caribbean's storied hotels as their new Executive Chef. Goehcke has worked in Michelin-starred restaurants and a host of high end eateries in the culinary capitals of the world but he was drawn to St. Lucia and the twin resorts Anse Chastanet and Jade Mountain partly because of their commitment to organic food and to their use of local produce.
