Kudzayi Nheweyembwa has been appointed as Director of Operations at Hilton Durban

Nheweyembwa brings 10 years of experience to his new role at Hilton Durban. In his former role as the Food and Beverage Manager at Hilton Sandton, he was responsible for all bars, restaurants, banqueting, room service and major projects like the launch of Queeni's Shebeen. Prior to Hilton Sandton, Nheweyembwa has been with the Hilton family since 2007, starting at the Hilton Dallas/Park Cities as Assistant Front Office Manager, then returning to South Africa where he worked at Hilton Durban as Front Desk Manager from February 2009 to September 2010. Nheweyembwa has also held positions with Hilton in the Middle East and Indian Oceans

Andy Conn has been appointed as General Manager at African Pride Mount Grace Country House & Spa

Andrew Conn has been appointed General Manager of African Pride Mount Grace Country House & Spa in the Magaliesberg, succeeding Nelson Rodrigues. Andrew has a wealth of experience, having run many 5-star operations during his 30 years as an hotelier, and is a welcome addition to the African Pride Hotels TEAM. Born in Durban, Conn was raised in Zimbabwe and trained at the Carlton Hotel in Johannesburg, back in its halcyon days when it was an industry icon and spawning-ground for top hoteliers.

Jim Weighell has been appointed as Director of Operations for Southern Africa at Global Business Travel Association Southern Africa (GBTA SA)

Mr. Weighell will lead GBTA initiatives in Southern Africa and will be responsible for the growth and development of GBTA SA by overseeing the delivery of the association’s full membership, events, education and training, as well as facilitating industry solution discussions between corporate travel buyers and key industry bodies.

Kovilan Naidoo has been appointed as President at GBTA Africa

The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA)—the voice of the global business travel industry— today announced Mr Kovilan Naidoo, Travel Manager – Africa for Cummins Inc, as its newly appointed President of GBTA Africa. Mr Naidoo will act as the lead buyer in the organization with a remit to steer GBTA in developing a full advisory board and strategy across key Africa regions outside of Southern Africa during 2014. The role compliments the existing buyer leadership position held by Ms Linda Basson, Accenture, as head of the board for GBTA’s Southern Africa region. GBTA is the only formal, not-for-profit, buyer-led, member association to operate in the business travel sector in South Africa. Mr Naidoo has held his existing role at Cummins Inc since 2011 with a remit to manage the travel and expense programme for the company across an extensive expansion project across Africa. Prior to this role he worked for First National Bank in South Africa as a Financial Manager and a Travel Sourcing Specialist.
