Markus Venzin has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer at EHL Group

We are pleased and excited to announce that the EHL Board of Directors has confirmed the appointment of Prof. Markus Venzin as the new Chief Executive Officer for EHL Group. He will take over the helm from Prof. Michel Rochat after his departure. Markus Venzin is an expert on growth strategies with a focus on innovation and corporate entrepreneurship. Born and raised in Switzerland where he obtained his PhD in Strategy and Organization at the Universität St.Gallen (HSG), he is currently Professor of Global Strategy and Dean of Innovation at Università Bocconi in Milan. Markus Venzin combined a solid academic experience and business acumen, but he also demonstrated the personal leadership strengths to carry out the future vision of our Group. His strong reputation for collaborative, people-focused management, entrepreneurial mindset and strategic vision will surely be an asset for our future. First IntercityHotel Opens For Business at Zurich Airport

Deutsche Hospitality is continuing to expand in its core German, Austrian and Swiss markets. IntercityHotel will make its brand debut in Switzerland when the first IntercityHotel to be launched in the country opens its doors on 1 December 2021 as the group extends its European presence still further. IntercityHotels are very much characterised by their central location, and Switzerland will be no exception in this regard. The new hotel is situated in the municipality of Rümlang, from where Zurich International Airport can be accessed in only ten minutes. The city centre is also just 15 minutes away. The project developer is Necron AG.

Cycas and IHG Hotels & Resorts partner to bring second Holiday Inn Express & Suites concept to Switzerland Cycas portfolio now covers six European countries (Belgium, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Switzerland and the UK) Cycas Hospitality continues to drive forward its ambitious expansion programme, having this month signed its first Swiss hotel. The 119-room Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sion will be operated by the award-winning pan-European operator under its first lease agreement with an investment group of Credit Suisse Asset Management.

Hans-Rudolf Rütti has been appointed as General Manager at Steigenberger Grandhotel Belvédère

Steigenberger Hotels AG has confirmed the appointment of Hans-Rudolf Rütti as new General Manager of the Steigenberger Grandhotel Belvédère with effect from 1 November 2021. Mr. Rütti was born in Switzerland and is held in high esteem internationally as a hotelier. He is able to look back on 30 years of experience, particularly in areas connected with the strategic positioning and repositioning of prestigious hotel properties. High points of his career thus far have included the opening of the legendary Hotel Eden Roc in Ascona, the repositioning of the Hotel Intercontinental in Bucharest and the realignment of the 7132 Hotel in Vals. Hans-Rudolf Rütti has also been successfully managing various sustainability projects in the NGO sector for several years.

Zleep Hotels Is Coming To Lausanne In 2023

Welcome to Lake Geneva! Deutsche Hospitality has plans for a further Zleep Hotel in Switzerland. The Zleep Hotel Lausanne in the municipality of Chavannes-près-Renens is the second venture to be announced in addition to the Zleep Hotel Zurich Kloten. It is scheduled to open for business in 2023. The new hotel will form part of a mixed-use concept including 300 student apartments, 30 further residential units, retail outlets, offices and public car parks. Deutsche Hospitality will be introducing its economy brand to a country in which it already maintains a presence in the form of the Steigenberger Grandhotel Belvédère Davos. Two IntercityHotels are also in the planning pipeline - the IntercityHotel Zurich Airport and the IntercityHotel Geneva Airport.

Grand Hotel Kronenhof Unveils Rochon Renovation Of Its Bel Étage

Grand Hotel Kronenhof (www.kronenhof.com) in Pontresina has re-opened for the summer season with a contemporary new look to its bel étage, which includes the reception, lobby lounge, bar and reading room. Subtle but luxurious changes have been made by the award-winning French interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon (PYR Design) in order to bring the neo-Baroque Grande Dame (built in 1848) into the 21st century while maintaining key historic elements.
