Absolute Hotel Services adds a new addition to U Hotels & Resorts in Thailand with the announcement of ‘U Phitsanulok’

Jonathan Wigley, CEO of the Absolute Hotel Services Group has signed a hotel management agreement with Ms. Siraarpa Siriviriyakul, Deputy Managing Director of Siricharoen Sappraiwan Company Limited to bring the popular U Hotels & Resorts brand to Phitsanulok, Thailand. U Phitsanulok is set in 900 rai of lush nature along the Khek River in central Thailand and the existing resort will be renovated, re-branded and re-launched in late 2023.

As Vice President Operations - APAC, TONY PEDRONI will oversee and direct all hotel operations in the Asia Pacific region. Pedroni first joined Outrigger in 2013 as General Manager of the then Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort. He is an experienced global hospitality professional, having served as General Manager for JW Marriott in Thailand; at the Renaissance in South Korea and the Waiohai Beach Club a Marriott Vacation Club Resort in Hawaii, as well as hotel management positions in Kuwait, the United Kingdom and Washington, DC.

Centara and Baansuay Group sign HMA for first property in Surat Thani

Centara Hotels & Resorts, Thailand's leading hotel operator and Baansuay Group (Suratthani) PCL. announced the signing of a Hotel Management Agreement (HMA) for Centra by Centara Hotel Surat Thani. Senior executives from the two companies officially executed the agreement at a signing ceremony held recently at Centara's flagship Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld. The largest of Thailand's southern provinces, Surat Thani is a main transit point for travellers en route to some of the Kingdom's most famous islands, including Koh Samui and Koh Phangan. The project comprises the complete renovation of an existing low-rise hotel, with work currently underway and an anticipated opening date of 1st July 2023, which includes the renovation of 110 rooms, all-day dining Dim Sum restaurant, casual in-style Japanese restaurant and meeting room. The completion of a second phase is expected in early 2025, which will see the construction of a new building to house additional facilities including large function room, fitness centre and swimming pool.

Anantara has appointed experienced hotelier, Pitak 'Chin' Norathepkitti as General Manager of Anantara Chiang Mai Resort. This role will see Mr. Norathepkitti at the helm of one the brand's international award-winning properties. Mr. Norathepkitti, a Thai national, who holds a Master of Arts in Tourism joins Anantara Chiang Mai from Siem Reap in Cambodia where he oversaw Anantara Angkor Resort for the last two years. Anantara Chiang Mai Resort, has been voted Thailand's #1 resort for the last two years by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler US and UK Readers' Choice Awards and was recently listed as one of the world's top 500 resorts by Travel and Leisure Magazine. With his extensive knowledge and experience of the local and international market, Mr. Norathepkitti is well placed to continue the success of the resort and will oversee an extensive refurbishment and implement new dining and spa concepts.
