Chanelle Garvey has been appointed as Sales and Marketing Director at Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit

Since breaking into the hospitality industry in 1991, Garvey has also worked for the Sheraton, Stamford and Radisson hotel chains. At the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila, she managed more than 40 staff in six departments and developed and implemented strategies to improve performance. Garvey also successfully relaunched the hotel’s flagship restaurant, Spiral, following a multi-million-dollar renovation. Opened in April 2012, the Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit has made a name for itself in the luxury hotel market by marrying French elegance with Thai hospitality and design. Inspired by the art deco period, the 345-room, limestone-steel-and-glass structure extends 32 stories above Sukhumvit Road and is capped by L'Appart, a Parisian-styled eatery and lounge designed to look and feel like a lavish penthouse apartment.

Originally from Phuket, he started his career in the kitchen in 1992 and have since gained many years of experiences from hotels and resorts in Phuket, including 4-year experience as the restaurant chef at Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort & Spa.

Clarence Tan has been appointed as Senior Vice President, Development for AMEA at IHG

Wuthisak graduated with a master’s degree in educational administration from Chulalongkorn University. With 37 years’ experience in food and beverage and management, Wuthisak has worked for a number of five-star hotels including Anoma Swissotel, Swissotel Istanbul Turkey, and Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok. Prior to transferring to the position of general manager at Centara Hotel & Convention Centre Khon Kaen, Wuthisak had spent three years as executive assistant manager for food and beverage at Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya.
