Ms. Aumpa’s managerial career began in 1996 when she joined The Westin Banyan Tree Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, as an Assistant Manager in the Front Office department. At the start of her tenure at Banyan Tree Bangkok, she demonstrated strong hospitality skills with the outstanding achievement of the Thurston Dupar Inspirational Award in the same year. The following year, she received another award, Service of Legend.

David G. Daguise has been appointed as General Manager at X2 Samui

A French national, Mr. David G. Daguise has brought with him more than 15 years of experience working in hotel industry. His extensive experience includes working with Hilton, Marriott, Renaissance and Le Meridien Etoile hotels in Paris, The Jalousie Plantation and Discovery Marigot Bay in St. Lucia, Le Prince Maurice in Mauritius and Huvafen Fushi in Maldives before moving to Thailand. His last position before joining X2 Samui was Resident Manager at Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra.

Patrick Manthe has been appointed as Hotel Manager at Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn

Mr. John Westoby, jointly Absolute Hotel Services Managing Director for South East Asia & General Manager of the Eastin Grand Sathorn, has delightedly announced the appointment of Mr. Patrick Manthe as Hotel Manager for the group’s flagship property Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn in Bangkok. Patrick, a Swiss national, joins the Eastin from his previous position as pre-opening General Manager at the 5-star Fusion Alya Resort in Hoi An, Vietnam. Prior to his last appointment he spent 3 years as pre-opening Executive Assistant Manager and then General Manager of the Moevenpick Hotel in Hanoi and possesses a solid background in both Rooms Division and Food and Beverage having gained vast experience at the Conrad Maldives and numerous Hilton hotels throughout Europe and Asia.

Sophon Vongchatchainont has been appointed as General Manager at the Pullman Pattaya Hotel G

Not a new face to Pattaya, Sophon was the general manager of this same property starting in 2003, until it was rebranded to Pullman Pattaya Aisawan in 2009 when he decided move to China to pursue new career ventures in the booming hotel industry.Sophon’s successful career began in 1979 in Bangkok and extended into various managerial positions in hotels throughout Thailand and China, working with different international hotel chains. During his tenure here, he has made a significant contribution to elevate the property’s standards, and rejuvenated the hotel performances to deliver optimum success. With extensive experience in the hotel industry and in-depth understanding of the domestic and international market, the return of Sophon to Pullman Pattaya Hotel G is poised to enhance this renowned beach resort to another level.

Suwanich Kanjanakunya has been appointed as Director of Sales and Catering at Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn

Ms. Suwanich will be responsible for the implementation and development of room and catering sales strategies to achieve the hotel’s revenue targets. Prior to joining the pre-opening team at Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn as Director of Catering and Events in 2011 her extensive background in the sales and catering arena consisted of almost 20 years’ experience in leading luxury hotels such as Mandarin Oriental Bangkok, Conrad Bangkok and Four Seasons Bangkok. Ms. Suwanich’s knowledge and expertise in the hospitality field has been a definite asset to the hotel and her new position will allow her full range of talents to come to the fore.

Christoph Berger has been appointed as General Manager at Outrigger Phuket Beach Resort

The 255-key resort, formerly the Laguna Beach Resort (LBR), was bought from Banyan Tree in July this year and then closed for extensive renovations. It is set to reopen on April 1 next year. Mr Berger, a German national and lifetime hotelier, has a long history with the resort. He was executive assistant manager from 2002 to 2004. He then worked for three years at the Sukhothai Bangkok and the Al Bustan Rotan Hotel in Dubai, before returning as GM of the LBR in 2007.

Anucha Suphan has been appointed as Director of Sales at Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin

Anucha has more than 15 years experience in sales at many leading hotels in Thailand. He started his career at Marriott Hotels & Resorts and worked there for seven years. He was Sales Manager before moving to work at Centara Hotels & Resorts in 2004 as Senior Sales Manager. Anucha worked with Centara Hotels & Resorts for three years and was responsible for many properties including Centara Grand Beach Resort Samui, Centara Villas Phuket, Centara Villas Samui, and Waterfront Suites Phuket by Centara. Subsequently he was Director of Sales at Eastin Hotel Makksan in 2007. He then rejoined Centara Hotels & Resorts where for two years he was Assistant Director of Sales responsible for travel agencies both locally and internationally, covering the Middle East, South Africa and India markets, before being appointed Director of Sales at Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin,

Zayne Boon has been appointed as General Manager at Novotel Bangkok IMPACT
