Timothy Griffin has been appointed as General Manager at Hoxton hotel

The design-led Hoxton hotel in Shoreditch, London, has appointed Timothy Griffin, as general manager, as the design-led budget brand sets to expand to seven hotels in London. Griffin, was previously director of operations at the 208-bedroom hotel, which was bought last year by Sharan Pasricha of private equity group Ennismore Capital. Prior to arriving at the Hoxton in 2011, Griffin worked at the Lancaster London as executive house manager and then food and beverage manager.

Velimir Burazor has been appointed as Business Development Manager - Corporate at InterContinental Park Lane

Mr. Burazor joins InterContinental London Park Lane from another IHG property, Crowne Plaza Zurich, where he grew from Sales Manager to Assistant Director of Sales in less than three years. During this period, Velimir oversaw European sales across Corporate, Transient, MICE, Leisure, and Airline. A true hotelier from the outset, Mr. Burazor gained a Higher Diploma in Hospitality at the prestigious Swiss Hotel Management School Lucerne (SHL). College To Pilot First Online Tourism And Hospitality Management Degree

Marie-Laure Akdag has been appointed as Regional Director of Sales and Marketing at The Savoy

Arriving in London at The Savoy, A Fairmont Hotel is Marie-Laure Akdag who has been named regional director, sales & marketing. Akdag joins the iconic hotel from her most recent position as hotel manager at 45 Park Lane, London. Over the course of her hotel career, Akdag has worked at a number of well-known hotels including the Hotel de Crillon in Paris and the Burj Al Arab in Dubai.

Eric Kortenbach has been appointed as Operations Director at of Doxford Hall, Eshott Hall and Guyzance Hall, and Dalhoustie Castle

Eric Kortenbach, former general manager of the Jesmond Dene House hotel in Newcastle, has been appointed as operations director for a collection of country house hotels in the north of England and Scotland. He had previously spent seven years as general manager of the four star Jesmond Dene House, which has just been awarded the Cesar award by the Good Hotel Guide 2012. It also received four AA Red Stars and three AA Rosettes under his management. In his newly created role, Kortenbach will work with the management team to develop all of the properties, owned by Guyzance Hall Ltd, in terms of service and customer care, as well as assisting in optimising financial performance.

Tess Campbell has been appointed as Deputy General Manager at Sleeperz Hotel Newcastle

Sleeperz Hotels, the innovative UK budget hotel operator, has appointed its youngest ever manager at its Newcastle city centre hotel. Tess Campbell, 23, from Darlington, has been promoted to Deputy General Manager at Sleeperz Hotels Newcastle, just one year after joining the company to work at its premium budget hotel near Newcastle Central Station. Ms. Campbell studied International Tourism Management at Leeds Metropolitan University and worked at Hotel Bannatyne, Darlington and at MalMaison in Leeds before being recruited by Sleeperz as reception manager at its first North East Hotel. Mark Armstrong, general manager of Sleeperz Hotel Newcastle, said: “Every once in a while you find someone who has all the personal qualities you look for in a future leader and in Tess’ case her age was irrelevant, she was ready and willing to take on management responsibility and she is already making a major impact on the business.”

Meredith Bevan has been appointed as General Manager at Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5

Meredith Bevan will join the hotel from Hilton London Paddington where he was the general manager. An industry stalwart, Meredith has more than 26 years hotel and hospitality experience, with 18 of those being with the Hilton brand at various hotels around the UK and Ireland. With general manager roles at Hilton properties in Bath, Bristol, Newport, Ireland and London, he is an ambassador of the brand, winning Director of Operations of the Year 2012 in the Hilton WorldWide awards.

Sally Beck has been named Hotel Manager at The Lancaster London

After 12 years implementing her strategic approach at The Landmark London as Director of Marketing, Sally Beck leaves to take her new role as Hotel Manager of The Lancaster London in January 2013. During her time at The Landmark London, Sally Beck has led her team in establishing the luxury hotel as a key competitor amongst London’s finest five star hotels. She has also pioneered The Landmark London’s CSR campaign, championing the hotel’s initiatives to become more ‘green’ and partnering with local organisations to support Marylebone community projects. She also spearheaded The Landmark London’s efforts to achieve the Investors in People (IIP) Gold Award this year, with the hotel exceeding expectations to become an IIP Champion in the process.
