Luca Virgilio has been appointed as General Manager at The Dorchester
The Dorchester announces the appointment of Luca Virgilio as general manager from January 2022. In his new role, Luca will oversee operations and strategies for the iconic 250-bedroom London hotel on Park Lane. He will manage a comprehensive renovation of The Dorchester commencing February 2022.Italian-born Luca joins from Dorchester Collection's Hotel Eden, Rome, where he has held the position of general manager since 2014. During this time Luca oversaw the refurbishment of the Hotel Eden and positioned it as Rome's most luxurious hotel. Luca's career has seen him in leadership roles in Switzerland, Monte-Carlo, Rome and London, amassing numerous accolades for the hotels under his direction. During his tenure, amongst other accolades, Hotel Eden has been awarded The One to Watch at Virtuoso Best of the Best Awards and Best Hotel in Europe at the Prix Villégiature Awards. Luca himself received recognition this year as Best Italian Hotelier 2021 at the DUCO Travel Summit after having repositioned the hotel with his team and for his commitment to guest and employee experience.
Valor Hospitality Announces Addition of St. Andrews Scores Hotel to Global Portfolio
Valor Hospitality Partners, a global, full-service hotel management company announced today their partnership with U.S. based Links Collection and Ireland-based Wirefox to operate the Scores Hotel in St. Andrews, beginning with an 18-month renovation. Form ed by Dallas, Texas based partners Robert Covington and Jonathan Harper, the Links Collection is the culmination of a mutual goal to develop and grow a desirable portfolio of small boutique hotels around iconic U.K. golf destinations, following their lifelong enthusiasm for links golf and love of the U.K. Wirefox, owned by B.J. Last month, Travelodge, the UK’s first budget hotel chain, announced it expects to open a further four new hotels in the lead-up to Christmas, two of these hotels officially opened on the 22nd of November in London’s top growth hotspots - Elephant & Castle and Manor House.
