Mercure Burton Upon Trent Newton Park Hotel Unveils Latest Refurbishment

The 4* Grade II listed Mercure Burton Upon Trent Newton Park Hotel has unveiled a number of renovated guest rooms. 21 of the hotel's 50 bedrooms, all located in the original house, have now been totally refurbished. This includes Privilege and Classic Doubles, most with stunning garden views, as well as the Superior Bridal Suite which has been completely redesigned and upgraded.

AJ Capital Partners Acquires Macdonald Rusacks Hotel in St Andrews, Scotland

Adventurous Journeys (AJ) Capital Partners announced today that it has acquired the Macdonald Rusacks Hotel in St Andrews, Scotland. The 70-key hotel will begin pre-construction design and architectural work in November 2019 and will undergo complete renovations starting spring 2020. Once completed in summer 2021, the reimagined hotel will debut with an additional 44 keys and a rooftop bar and restaurant overlooking the 18th hole of the Old Course at St Andrews and the historic Swilcan Bridge. This marks the second acquisition by AJ Capital from the Macdonald Hotels & Resorts portfolio in addition to the Randolph Hotel in Oxford, England, which upon renovation will join the Graduate Hotels® collection.

Chippenham Travelodge is the second hotel the company has opened in Wiltshire this year

Travelodge, Wiltshire's first branded budget hotel chain has opened its third hotel in Chippenham and became the town's largest hotel brand. This is the company's second hotel opening in Wiltshire this year. In June, the company opened its second hotel in Swindon by the designer shopping outlet. Collectively these two hotels represent an investment of £11 million and have created 40 new jobs.
