Hotel Equities Announces The Opening Of The Fairfield Inn And Suites By Marriott® In Tolleson, Arizona

Hotel Equities (HE) announced the opening of the Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott West Phoenix/Tolleson, Arizona. The 116-room hotel is part of a mixed-use site owned and co-developed by Hotel Equities and its affiliated private equity partner, Virtua Partners. Virtua Credit Corporation arranged financing for the hotel which features the latest design elements from the Marriott brand. Hotel Equities will operate the new hotel located at 9033 West McDowell Road.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Tempe Completes $5 million Renovation

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Tempe has completed its final phase of a $5 million hotel renovation. This renovation included a complete revamp of the hotel lobby, 24-hour fitness center, a 800-square foot meeting space, food and beverage area, all 128 guestrooms, and the hotel's exterior. The purpose of this renovation was to conform to the sleek and modern style of the Formula Blue design specifications by InterContinental Hotels Group. The renovation was managed by San Diego-based hospitality group RAR Hospitality which acquired Holiday Inn Express and Suites Tempe in September of 2015.

Deanna Zuber-Galloway has been named Director of Sales and Marketing and Events at Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Bungalows

Zuber-Galloway, an Arizona native, brings over 15 years of hospitality experience in sales, events planning, and food and beverage operations to her new position. Crestline Hotels & Resorts Selected to Manage New Dual-Branded Hyatt Place and Hyatt House in Arizona

Crestline Hotels & Resorts, LLC ("Crestline") announced today its management of the dual-branded Hyatt Place and Hyatt House hotels located on Arizona State University's Tempe Campus. The hotels, which are scheduled to open in the summer of 2020, will be the first dual-branded Hyatt Hotels in the Tempe market and the first hotels to be developed in the ASU Athletic District. The hotels will be a focal point of the 350-acre Novus Corridor on ASU's campus, which will ultimately include 3.9 million square feet of office space, nearly 4,000 homes, and 300,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space. The district was created in 2010 by the Arizona Legislature to generate funding for building and renovating ASU athletic facilities. The hotels are being developed by Mortenson Construction and will be owned by Apple Hospitality REIT, Inc.

Jon Erickson has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Sheraton Phoenix Downtown

Before diving into the world of sales, Jon spent nearly eight years immersed in hotel operations. He took on the role of sales manager at The Westin Fort Lauderdale in Florida where he made a splash becoming the first corporate sales manager to book over one million in group rooms. Jon continued to bolster his resume in the Southeast as regional sales manager of Boca Raton Resort & Club in Florida, sales manager of The Westin & Sheraton Grand Bahama Island in the Bahamas, and then director of sales of Sheraton Suites Fort Lauderdale Plantation in Florida. In all three roles, he exceeded goals and expectations year over year.In 2011, Jon moved to Arizona to be Director of Sales & Marketing at the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel, and after leaving in 2018 for Atlanta's Westin Peachtree Plaza, he is back in the Valley of the Sun to lead sales and marketing for Arizona's largest hotel - Sheraton Phoenix Downtown

Paige Lund has been appointed as General Manager at JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort & Spa

Paige Lund has been appointed general manager of the legendary JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort & Spa. Steve Hart, general manager of JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa and area general manager, made the announcement.Prior to her appointment at JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort & Spa, Lund was the general manager of the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel, a member of the Marriott group, a post she has held since 2012. As a result of Lund's successful leadership, the Renaissance Phoenix earned several awards during her tenure that included Breakthrough Leadership Training Excellence, Guest Experience, Talent Leadership and Hotel of the Year twice for the Western Region. In 2017, while in that role, Lund was promoted to Area General Manager where she oversaw and supported the Sheraton Grand Phoenix and Westin Phoenix, two notable downtown Phoenix properties.In addition to multiple leadership positions within Wyndham Hotels and Resorts and Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Lund also served as the General Manager of The Sheraton Crescent Hotel in Phoenix; Vice President of Lodging for The Canyons Ski Resort in Park City, Utah; General Manager of The Wigwam Golf Resort & Spa in Litchfield Park, Arizona; and has served in executive level positions with Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, and The Boulders Resort & Spa in Carefree. Lund is actively involved in multiple Arizona hospitality and tourism organizations including Visit Phoenix Board of Directors, the Arizona Lodging and Tourism Association Board, City of Phoenix Tourism and Hospitality Advisory Board, Northern Arizona University School of Hotel and Restau rant Management National Advisory Board, HopeKids Arizona State Board and is a member of AzLTA Women in Lodging. Additionally, Lund is a firm believer in giving back to the communities in which her hotels or resorts reside. In Phoenix, she has partnered with and supported an array of local philanthropic organizations including HopeKids, Make-a-Wish, St. Mary's Food Bank, Washington Elementary School District and Grace and Mercy Homeless Ministries.Lund earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration from NAU in 1993 and remains active in educating and developing the next generation of hospitality professionals by visiting the university and participating in a series of lectures and presentations throughout the year.

With 25 years of hospitality experience, General Manager Anthony Duggan brings a wealth of expertise to L'Auberge de Sedona where he oversees the resort's day-to-day operations, including guest satisfaction, execution of strategic planning and forward-thinking property development. Throughout his career, Duggan has worked for some of the world's most esteemed hotel brands including an 11-year stint with the InterContinental Hotels Group and seven years with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. In July 2012, Duggan followed his passion to the Aloha State, where he held the role of director of operations at the Fairmont Kea Lani in Maui before returning to the mainland in 2014, where he managed The St. Regis San Francisco. His most recent roles include serving as the general manager of Amangiri in Canyon Point, Utah before crossing the country to manage The Westin Washington, D.C. City Center.

Newly appointed Director of Sales Christi Windle brings nearly 30 years of strategic sales and hospitality experience to her role. Prior to L'Auberge de Sedona, she spent time in Breckenridge, Colo. where she worked for Vail Resorts, Copper Mountain, and Beaver Run Resort before moving to New Mexico where she held the position of director of sales and marketing at Hilton Santa Fe Buffalo Thunder; director of sales at Sandia Resort & Casino; general manager at the Inn at Santa Fe; and the director of sales and marketing at Hilton Santa Fe Historic Plaza. Windle is excited to be back in her home state of Arizona and utilize her sales knowledge and expertise to execute a strategic sales model.

Ardi Dulaku has been appointed as Beverage Manager at L’Auberge de Sedona, A Destination Hotel

Overseeing L'Auberge de Sedona's beverage program is Beverage Manager Ardi Dulaku, tasked with refreshing the resort's cocktail menus along with beer, wine, and spirits offerings at signature restaurant Cress on Oak Creek and ETCH Kitchen & Bar, which serves elevated casual classics. A native of Kosovo, Dulaku has called Sedona home since 1999 and been captivated by the beverage industry since childhood. He grew up on various vineyards and watched his brother work as a bartender, ultimately deciding to follow in his footsteps. He worked at resorts and hospitality outlets including Amara Resort and Spa and Vacation Resorts International in Sedona, Ariz.. At L'Auberge de Sedona, Dulaku finds inspiration in the freedom to be creative with beverages bringing a keen eye for trendsetting, fresh ingredients, and an unmatched palate to his role. He is actively building a beverage program complementary of the resort's wellness-inspired, calming ambiance.
