Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile Resumes Hotel Operations

Situated in the heart of Chicago's Michigan Avenue, Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile has resumed hotel operations offering easy access to the best of Chicago's dining, entertainment, shopping, and business opportunities. Recently completing a five-year, $110 million property-wide renovation, guests of the 1,200-room downtown property once again have access to 68,000 square feet of meeting and event space, unmatched culinary offerings, and a variety of hotel amenities including a 9,000 square foot fitness center. With a focus on safety and wellbeing, the hotel has resumed operations through Marriott International's Commitment to Clean Program which has redefined the standards for cleaning and safety throughout the hotel.

Hyatt Hotels to Unveil Restoration of Historic Architectural Landmark, Cook County Hospital

Hyatt Place and Hyatt House Chicago Medical/University District, the first combined Hyatt Place and Hyatt House hotels located in Chicago, is set to open this summer in the Beaux-Arts classical-style landmark formerly the site of the remarkable 106-year old Cook County Hospital, at 1835 W. Harrison St. on the Near West Side. This 342,000 square foot adaptive reuse project, part of a $150 million multiphase plan spearheaded by Murphy Development and SOM, in a design-build collaboration with Walsh Construction, Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc., and KOO, will also feature over 4,000 sq. feet of meeting space, open concept public spaces, a 24-hour fitness center, a food hall, medical offices, and a museum paying tribute to the hospital's legacy. Upon opening, the hotels will be operated by Aimbridge Hospitality.
