Robert Foster has been appointed as Director of Hotel Operations at DoubleTree by Hilton Asheville-Biltmore

Biltmore Farms Hotels, Asheville's largest locally-owned hospitality company, announces an internal restructure and creation of two new positions. Robert Foster, general manager of the DoubleTree by Hilton Asheville-Biltmore, has been promoted to Director of Hotel Operations, while Melissa Warwick, general manager of the Residence Inn Biltmore, has been named revenue manager. Both positions will oversee responsibilities for all of Biltmore Farms Hotels.

Paul Papadopulos has been appointed as General Manager at Renaissance Charlotte Suites Hotel

Papadopulos has a proven track record as a leader in sales and marketing management and relationship development. He joined JQH in 2007, most recently serving as corporate director of group sales strategy for the company’s national portfolio. He has also served as JQH’s corporate director of national accounts and as a regional director of sales. His experience ranges from focused service and extended stay to luxury class hotels in North America.

Nancy Obstler has been appointed as General Manager at Embassy Suites Charlotte – Concord/Golf Resort & Spa

Obstler joined JQH more than 15 years ago as director of sales for the award-winning Embassy Suites Greenville Golf Resort & Conference Center. She was part of the 2006 pre-opening and 2007 opening teams for the Embassy Suites Charlotte – Concord/Golf Resort & Spa, where she served as director of sales for several years, during which time the hotel received numerous performance-based honors. She has also served as general manager of the Renaissance Charlotte Suites Hotel, prior to returning to JQH’s Concord property as the new GM. Previous to JQH, Obstler gained experience as a food & beverage director, pastry chef and catering manager in Southeast and Northeast hospitality assignments.

Gerry Link has been appointed as General Manager at 21c Museum Hotel Durham

21c Museum Hotels is pleased to announce the appointment of Gerry Link to the position of General Manager of 21c Museum Hotel Durham, opening the first quarter of 2015. A 25-year hospitality industry veteran and previously General Manager at 21c Cincinnati, Link has experience with both branded luxury and independent boutique properties. Link's experience spans all areas of hotel management including food and beverage, marketing, development, finance and sales. As General Manager of 21c Cincinnati, he oversaw both the pre-opening and opening phases of the hotel and was responsible for all hotel operations, sales, and community and guest relations. Under his management, 21c Cincinnati was named the #1 Hotel in the U.S. by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler. Prior to joining 21c, Link spent 13 years with Hilton Hotels and nine years with Renaissance Hotels.

Cathy Shaffer has been appointed as Associate Director of Sales and Marketing at 21c Museum Hotel Durham

21c Museum Hotels is pleased to announce the appointment of Cathy Shaffer to the position of Associate Director of Sales and Marketing of 21c Museum Hotel Durham, opening the first quarter of 2015. Shaffer brings an intimate knowledge of the Triangle area and experience in sales, marketing, account management and business development to 21c Museum Hotels. She began her career at Marriot Hotels and has held sales positions at a number of national hotel brands. Most recently, Shaffer was the Mid Market Account Executive of the Mid-Atlantic Region at Marriot Hotels International. There she was responsible for a number of corporate and university accounts in the Raleigh/Durham area.

Ronald J. Hunter has been named General Manager at Embassy Suites Raleigh-Crabtree

Dedicated and award winning general manager, Hunter is familiar with North Carolina having attended North Carolina Central University and chairing the Durham Convention & Visitors Bureau for three terms during service from 1996 to 2014. He joins the Embassy Suites team after recently consulting at Research Triangle Park (RTP) Foundation in Durham and directing all aspects of operation of a full service hotel with just under 200 guestrooms. From 1972 to 2013, he held several positions at Governors Inn, Radisson Hotel RTP including hotel manager and general manager a position he held for 18 years.

Kiella Molden has been appointed as Sales Manager at Embassy Suites Charlotte - Concord/Golf Resort & Spa

Molden comes to the resort after five years as sales manager at Embassy Suites Research Triangle in Cary. Prior to working at Embassy Suites Research Triangle, Molden was a sales manager with a Marriott property in Research Triangle Park. A native of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Molden graduated from Bethel High School in Hampton, Va. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from North Carolina Central University in 2007, and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She and her husband, Jamal, live in Charlotte.

Highly skilled in the culinary arts, Belknap now oversees the entire food and beverage operation at The Omni Grove Park Inn, including all restaurants and lounges, 24 hour in-room dining and banqueting for special events, as well as the resort retail program.

Eric Habschied has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Embassy Suites Concord Golf Resort and Spa

Veteran sales executive Eric Habschied is the new director of sales at Embassy Suites Golf Resort & Spa near Charlotte Motor Speedway.Habschied comes to the resort after five years as sales director at Hilton Charlotte University Place. He also spent four years as director of sales at Hilton Charlotte Executive Park and has a combined 20 years hotel sales experience in the Charlotte market. Habschied, 43, is a native of Rochester, N.Y. He and wife, Gloria, have been married 14 years and have two sons, E.J. (11) and Evan (4).

Gus Tejeda has been appointed as Director of Resort Sales at The Omni Grove Park Inn

Possessing management and leadership skills honed as a top sales executive at several sizable properties, Gus Tejeda leads the sales, catering and convention services teams as director of resort sales at The Omni Grove Park Inn. He arrived from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., where he was vice president of group sales for Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas, for five years, during which he also spent time as vice president of group marketing. He was also executive director of convention sales at Bellagio Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, and director of sales at Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas, the city's first AAA Five Diamond, Mobil Four Star hotel. Tejeda earned a Bachelor of Science degree in hotel administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Zan Miller has been appointed as Director of Revenue Management at The Omni Grove Park Inn

Having produced impressive revenue results at independent and chain hotels for more than three decades, Zan Miller brings his expertise to the director of revenue management position at The Omni Grove Park Inn. He arrived at the resort from the Royal Sonesta Hotel Houston, where, as director of revenue management, he led a successful reflagging by InterContinental. Miller's previous experience includes managing director at Blue Water Consulting in Houston; vice president of revenue management at Seneca Gaming Corporation in Niagara Falls, N.Y.; executive director of revenue at Foxwoods Resort Casino/MGM at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, Conn.; regional director of revenue management at Harrah's Entertainment Mid-South in Robinsonville, Miss.; senior regional revenue manager of La Quinta Corporation in Irving, Tex.; and director of revenue management at Harrah's Entertainment, Las Vegas. Miller got his start as director of revenue management for Starwood Hotels and Resorts in Washington, D.C. Originally from New York, Miller studied communications at Cornell University.
