Richard A. Ross has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at The Omni Homestead Resort

Ross joins The Omni Homestead Resort with over 30 years of operations, sales, marketing and multi-property leadership experience. He has relocated from Dallas, Texas where he was most recently vice president of sales for Remington Hotels. Ross realized his lifelong dream of becoming a hotelier through his first high school job as a busboy at the Hotel Hershey - now the Omni Bayfront in Corpus Christi, Texas - and pursued his goals through studies in Hotel and Restaurant Management at the Conrad Hilton College, part of the University of Houston system.

John Maly has been appointed as General Manager at The Blackburn Inn

Maly will oversee day-to-day operations of the hotel and contribute fresh ideas for local, community partnerships and ongoing initiatives that create unique guest experiences for locals and travelers alike. Maly began his career in hospitality more than 14 years ago after receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Tech University. Prior to his new role, Maly contributed to the success of multiple properties, overseeing million-dollar renovation projects, increasing hotel profitability, and improving overall consumer satisfaction. Maly began his journey in Dallas, Texas at the Four Seasons Resort and Club, later going on to manage The Lodge at Turning Stone. Most recently, Maly served as the General Manager of The Ivey's Hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he successfully led opening operations for the property, including employee hiring and training, development of revenue strategy, and creation and execution of the bar and lounge program.

Blake Fisk has been appointed as Director of Sales at The Blackburn Inn

Fisk brings a demonstrated passion for hospitality to The Blackburn Inn. Her experience has prepared her to lead the property's strategy for maximizing revenue and business opportunities in her new role. Fisk earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration Management with an emphasis in Hospitality from Georgia Southern University in 2014. She began her career as an intern at Georgia's Sea Island Resort, later moving on to the Stonewall Jackson Hotel and Conference Center where she acted as a Sales Manager. Most recently, Fisk served as Resort Sales Manager for the Keswick Hall and Golf Club, maximizing revenue through direct sales and group business in the Richmond and DC markets.

Dori Familiant has been appointed as General Manager at Hilton McLean Tysons Corner

Dori Familiant has been appointed general manager of Hilton McLean Tysons Corner, according to Doug Gehret, Area Vice President, Park Hotels. Located in the Northern Virginia Technology corridor close to many major corporate headquarters, including Hilton headquarters, the 458-room hotel serves as an Innovation Hub where many of new meeting, guest room, service, technology and food and beverage concepts are tested. His appointment is effective immediately and he will oversee the day-to-day operations of Hilton McLean Tysons Corner.

IIG and Cornerstone Hospitality prepare for opening of the Western Front Hotel

The Western Front Hotel, a 1920s-era building with interior design by Interior Image Group (IIG), will open to the public on February 12, 2018. IIG partnered with developers from Creative Boutique Hotels and Cornerstone Hospitality to design the hotel, transforming it from an old retail and apartment building to a modern destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Larry Johnson has been appointed as Director of Finance at Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center

BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, has named Larry Johnson director of finance for Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center, a Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property located in Roanoke, Virginia. Hotel Roanoke is a part of Curio - A Collection by Hilton. Brian Wells, general manager, made the announcement. “I am very happy to welcome Larry to our property,” said Mr. Wells. “He comes to us with important experience in hotel finance, gained in several leadership positions across multiple hotels. We look forward to his active participation as part of our executive team.” Larry Johnson brings years of experience in hotel finance to his new position with Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center. He was previously director of finance for the Hilton Durham in his native state of North Carolina. During his tenure there Mr. Johnson was twice honored with the Director of Finance of the Year Award by Interstate Hotels & Resorts, which manages the property. He also held a seat on the company’s Finance Council. Johnson has served as director of finance for Embassy Suites by Hilton Raleigh Durham Research Triangle, the Embassy Suites by Hilton Greenville Golf Resort and Conference Center, and Durham Marriott City Center. Mr. Johnson is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has relocated to Roanoke.

Frank Paris has been appointed as Executive Chef of Heirloom at Graduate Charlottesville

Chef Paris joins Heirloom after an impressive career at some of the top hospitality brands and restaurants in the South. Paris developed his taste for fine dining during his childhood, always looking to add flavor and finesse to his meals. Realizing that the best way to regularly enjoy elevated cuisine was to create the dishes himself, he began his journey to become a chef. After graduating with a degree in culinary arts from Johnson & Wales University, Paris completed an intensive apprenticeship program at the Greenbrier Hotel & Resort in West Virginia, laying the foundation for his later experiences working in hotel dining. Following his apprenticeship, Paris held positions at Joel’s Brasserie in Atlanta as well as Chef de Cuisine for the Greenbrier Sporting Club. Finding inspiration in the hospitality arena, Paris went on to work as Executive Sous-Chef at Primland Resort in Virginia where he developed a passion for locally sourced ingredients. During his time in Charlottesville, Paris served as Chef de Cuisine at the Farmington Country Club before opening his own ramen & donut restaurant, Miso Sweet. Paris’s colorful journey in the culinary arts combined with his travel experiences ultimately brought him to Heirloom at Graduate Charlottesville, where he has refreshed the menu to reflect his passion for locally sourced and globally inspired fare. The full-service menu offers small and large plates with southern flair, paying homage to its Charlottesville roots.

Jeffrey Fork has been appointed as Director of Sales at Embassy Suites by Hilton Hampton Roads

Hammons Hotels & Resorts (JQH) today announced that Jeffrey Fork is the new director of sales at the company’s Embassy Suites by Hilton Hampton Roads – Hotel, Convention Center & Spa in Virginia. Fork brings 19 years of experience in hospitality, including in the Hampton market, to the 295-suite hotel, which is connected by a covered walkway to the Hampton Roads Convention Center. Jennifer Montgomery has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Kimpton Lorien Hotel and Spa

A Kimpton veteran, Ms Montgomery joins Kimpton Lorien Hotel and Spa’s executive team from Kimpton’s Carlyle Hotel Dupont Circle and Glover Park Hotel in Washington, DC where she was most recently the opening associate director of sales for both hotels.
