Ligouri joined The Westin Riverfront family in 2011 to serve as a Spa Anjali Supervisor and has continuously worked her way up by proving that she is ready for the next challenge. Ligouri began her spa career at the Vail Cascade’s Aria Spa; she also started and operated a small company called Rocky Mountain Reindeer with her now husband, where she learned the importance of effective operations and administration.

Ingrid Middaugh has been promoted to Director of Spa Anjali & The Athletic Club at The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa at Beaver Creek Mountain

Middaugh has been serving as the Director of Spa Anjali since 2013. A graduate of Central Michigan University, Middaughpreviously served as the Spa Director at the Vail Cascade Resort. Under her leadership, Spa Anjali has earned many industry kudos, including being named one of the “Top 25 U.S. Spas” by Conde Nast Traveler, a “Favorite Green Spa” by American Spa Magazineand a “Top Green Spa” by Organic Spa Magazine. In her new position, Middaugh will be joining The Westin Riverfront’s Executive Committee and also overseeing the Athletic Club at The Westin, which offers more than 60 group exercise classes per week, along with extensive special wellness programming, including yoga workshops, triathlete training sessions and nutrition counseling.

Thomas Hartwell has been appointed as Executive Chef at Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa

Hartwell began his restaurant career as a prep cook and busboy at the Stage Door Restaurant outside Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After holding several positions at various restaurants in his home state of Michigan, he moved to Santa Rosa, California to join the team at Restaurant Matisse, a French-inspired California cuisine restaurant under the guidance of Chef Michael Hirschberg. From Restaurant Matisse, he landed a coveted internship at Michelin-starred Land Hoff in Solingen, Germany.

Angela Blackstock has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Embassy Suites by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn Boulder

Blackstock joins the Hiltons on Canyon from the Renaissance Boulder Flatiron Hotel, bringing more than 25 years of Colorado hospitality experience. A proven sales team leader, Blackstock was named the Director of Sales & Marketing of the Year in 2015 for White Lodging. An active member of the Boulder County community, Blackstock volunteers much her time at a food bank in Longmont.

Kathleen Bates has been appointed as General Manager at Embassy Suites by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn Boulder

A hospitality industry veteran with nearly 20 years of experience, Bates previously served as the General Manager of the Denver Airport Marriott at Gateway Park, Holiday Inn Stapleton and Residence Inn by Marriott Denver City Center. Jason Dorfman has been named General Manager at The Jacquard

The Jacquard, a hotel slated to open early 2018 within Denver’s fashionable Cherry Creek North neighborhood, today announces the appointment of Jason Dorfman as general manager. Dorfman will lead the new Autograph Collection hotel, owned and operated by Denver-based Stonebridge Companies, upon its opening. Holding a B.S. in Business Administration from The Fritz Knoebel School of Hospitality Management at the University of Denver, Dorfman brings an impressive track record in hospitality experience to The Jacquard. Over the years, he has worked at many other prominent hotels in Colorado and beyond. He returns to Colorado after most recently serving as general manager of the DoubleTree by Hilton San Francisco Airport North where he was awarded Stonebridge Companies’ highest honor, The President’s Award for General Manager of the Year. Dorfman has spent more than half of his career with Stonebridge Companies, beginning as a revenue manager in 2006. While holding this position he was nominated as Outstanding Revenue Manager of the Year by Marriott International. Beyond the prestigious awards he has garnered, Jason has been responsible for leading various hotels he has managed to increased guest satisfaction scores, market share growth and overall property success.

Groundbreaking for W Aspen - Slated to open for the 2018-19 ski season

Northridge Capital, LLC, owner of the Sky Hotel in Aspen, Colorado, in partnership with local developer Sarpa Development, is pleased to announce that it closed last month on construction financing for its redevelopment of the property, prominently located at the base of Aspen Mountain in the heart of town, obtained construction permits from the City of Aspen, and broke ground on the project on Friday, May 26. Northridge selected Marriott International's W Hotels as operator for the new hotel and residences last year. An entity owned by one or more funds managed, directly or indirectly, by Fortress Investment Group LLC (NYSE: FIG) is providing construction financing, and Haselden Construction of Denver is the general contractor.

Courtyard by Marriott Denver Downtown completes multi-million dollar renovation

The Courtyard by Marriott Denver Downtown is pleased to announce that it has completed the multi-million dollar renovation launched last fall that included updates the hotel"s lobby and seven urban meetings spaces. The "modern vintage" feel of the remodel was designed to honor the hotel"s stylish architectural history – the building was originally designed by Denver architect Frank E. Edbrooke in 1887 and was home to Joslins Department Store for much of the 1900s.

Alexis Guinn has been appointed as Sales Manager at The JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek

Guinn joins the JW Marriott Denver team from another Sage Hospitality property, the Curtis – a Doubletree by Hilton, where she most recently served as a Group Sales Manager. While at the Curtis, Guinn was named the hotel’s Manager of the Year for 2016. A graduate of Colorado State University, Guinn also previously worked at the Grand Hyatt Denver and the Vail Marriott Hotel Resort & Spa.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Denver Downtown Convention Center completes major renovation

Upgrades to the full-service hotel included new modern furniture, lighting, carpet and soft goods in tones of blue-gray and camel in each of the 403 spacious guest suites. Additionally, a commissioned two-story art and water feature welcomes guests to the soaring lobby, which features a 14- story sky curtain that provides an abundance of natural light. The hotel"s 27,000 square feet of meeting space – which can host up to 650 people - now features fresh carpet and design, along with three new Executive Board Rooms.

Brett Russell has been promoted to managing director at HVS

Aaron Baxendale has been appointed as Executive Sous Chef at The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch

The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch is delighted to welcome Aaron Baxendale as Executive Sous Chef of WYLD, the resort’s newly debuted signature restaurant. With more than 12 years of experience and a passion for embracing local flavors in his cooking, Baxendale blends harmoniously with WYLD’s sumptuous Alpine cuisine that brings the local Colorado bounty to life. A Cleveland native, Baxendale began his culinary career at Le Cordon Bleu at the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute, followed by the American Culinary Federation (ACF) accredited three-year apprenticeship program. His formal training led him to work in some of the finest restaurants in the country, including five years at the luxurious Greenbrier resort, two years at The Boathouse Club on Martha's Vineyard, and four years with Marriott International and The Ritz-Carlton – including most recently as Chef de Cuisine of Georgia’s Bistro at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation and Executive Chef of Old Hickory Steakhouse at the Gaylord National Resort in Washington D.C. During his first few weeks at The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch, Baxendale has channeled his gastronomic approach of using simple yet bold flavors into the dishes he makes at WYLD, which pay homage to the resort’s pristine location rooted in nature and on the “edge of wild.” In his new role, Baxendale will lead the culinary team at WYLD to bring Colorado’s succulent bounty to life. The restaurant features an eclectic menu and refined mountain classics with a strong emphasis on locally sourced and sustainable meats, seafood, and seasonal vegetables. Signature dishes include Open-Face Lamb Dip with shaved Colorado lamb, horseradish cream, crispy onion, and au jus; Big Fat Toasted Grilled Cheese with Haystack chili jack, vacherin, and fontina cheeses paired with a tomato soup shooter; Niman Ranch Pork Bruschetta with lardo and Colorado wildflower honey; and more.
